How to remove and replace the printhead of a Kodak EasyShare 5300 printer?
Clarification: Remove tanks(cartridges)first. You see the bullseye target with a finger pointing to it.
Above the bullseye sticker, there's a rectangular button. Press it in until printhead dislodges.
Remove both ink tanks. Place your finger on the leftside where the black ink was. You may get ink on your finger just so you know. Move your finger to the left until you can't anymore. With the bottom part of your finger facing upwards run your finger up the back wall inside the printhead until you hit the little ledge in the back. You won't see the button, but just push up and it should push the release button. If it works the printhead should become loose so you can just take the printhead out.

Open top of printer, remove the two ink cartridges, see the target with the finger on it, just above it is a rectangle push button, it will click and printhead will pop out to you. lift it out. install new printhead, and push on target until it clicks, reinstall ink cartridges push till they ckick. follow instructions on the printer screen. and your done.

Yes, there is a little button just on the top middle of the print head. push it and the head comes out very easily.
You take out the color ink cartridge then black feel in the center up above the bulls eye sticker thier is what feels like a square button push up and this will release the print head. Im so glad I finally found it on my own. hope this helps
I have tried what is suggested , I am not getting anywhere with this. I wasn't able to move my finger to the left of anything. What am I doing wrong!

LindaPNY: I have just replace mine and it really is simple (thanks to the posts here :D) Above the pictre of a thumb and the little target is a very small button which is almost inline with the tope edge of the printhead. You have to push it quite hard and pull the printhead out at the same time. If you still can't do it mail me and I will video it :) support AT rrhosting DOT com

Take the printer back and ask for some compensation because of having problems with it before.

printer won't print. most likely the print head needs replaced. had read on here that they would replace them via Kodak.
The printer indicates printhead needs to be installed properly. Have taken printhead out and cleaned it, but have same problem.
