The signal does not pick up

Hook the ps3 back up to the hd tv. From here you need to acces the settings resolution options. Set the resolution to 480 (standard tv). Once set for standard, turn off, disconnect, and set up to non hd tv. Problem solved.

Have you tried holding down the power button for 5 seconds to revert back to standard definition?

1 - Turn on TV and set input to port being used.
2 - Make sure PS3 is connected via correct cable.
3 - Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.

Then after that change the output setting to HDMI on your PS3 and see if it works after that, if not, try the system on another TV to make sure its not a problem with your tv.

If it still doesn't work try another cable and then after that it could be a problem with the main board inside of the ps3.

You should try unplugging and plugging back in all the cords. And try blowing in the places where you put the cords. Those places may be dusty and not able to read the PS3.

Hi, i have had to solve this problem in my own home. You must have access to some HDMI output to fix this. the playstation 3 does not have auto-detect like the xbox 360. meaning if you have an hdmi then switch to standard AV, the system wont detect this. you need to hook up the system to an hdmi output, then switch the settings over to the AV output while both sets are plugged in. if you need more clarification feel free to email me! Are you connecting wirelessly or with a cord? if wireless, you need to make sure that you are selecting the same security setting as the connection that you pick in 'network settings'. If the option is 'none', then you need not worry about a password. however if it has a password, then you need to make sure that you type that password in (case sensitive). switch the hard switch off in the back of the ps3. unplug power cord... press and hold power button located on the front f the ps3 for approx 10 secs, then let it sit for a few, then hook it back up and turn the hard switch back on and try to power it back up.

I have had this happen once before but it did return to normal.
