Can´t access 192.168.1.1 (router admin page)

Hi, I have being working fine with my WL-520GC for one year, with 2 laptops connected via wireless. Suddenly, for some weeks, I am unable to access the router admin page (192.168.1.1). The IE browser stays "connecting" for several minutes without any info from the router (not even the user/pass request). I have run again the EZsetup but nothing changed. So, what shall I do to get back the admin page?

Thanks, regards.

Hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure that your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

    ISP does NOT MATTER!
unless they own it and is locked out.
in that case the IP works the page shows but login is not known.

the local lan address, is all you need.
reset it, using the book page for long reset.

learn to use a local IP scanner,
or reset the thing using the button and RTM
the manual is clear as day what the IP is.
    on your subnet.
    https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/WL520...

    do the long reset
    then in your browser.
    type 192.168.1.1
page 5 in the manual, for 10 years now
    bingo you are in CHARGE.

my guess is he failed to do a long reset,
    10 seconds held.
some take 30second, varies by model. brand.
if that fails on all PCs you have that is not good. bad router. or bad cat 5 cable in hand.
or if one PC only fails,
that PCs driver is bad on that PC. NIC driver.

This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

Bought new computer and need key number for wl-520gc

Hi! there is a possibility that the wireless network of your router is secured. to check on the setup page of the router, u need to type the ip address of the router ex-192.168.1.1.. to check the ip address of the router, connect the router directly to the router and click on start, run and type cmd, dos prompt will pop up and from the dos prompt, type ipconfig/all and it will list the ip address, subnet, default gateway.. the default gateway is the routers ip address. once u got it, pull up a browser and type at the url- the ip address of the router and enter.. it will ask for the username and password, by default the username is admin and the pass, leave it blank then it will show the setup page of the router and you have to go to the wireless settings, on the wireless settings will show the type of security and password u have.. i hope this will help to solve ur concern..

HI! I will be more than glad to assist u in this concern..the reason why page cant be displayed bcoz the router and the modem wont talk to each other.. u are connect to the router but not to the internet..this are the possible solution.. .. if you are using a cable modem from ur cable company provider- u need to do a mac clone on the router u have to clone the mac address of ur computer. normaly the mac of ur computer is the one register to your cable company and on the setup page of the router just selct on the internet setup, dhcp after clonning the mac address of your computer. u need to connect ur computer directly to the router and then after doing the process connect the router to the modem. if u are using a username and password, u have to use the pppoe settings on the router, if ur isp set a static ip , set it up to the router, to check the ip setting of your isp.. connect the computer directly to the modem and check if u have internet.. then click on start, run and type cmd,it will give u a dos prompt and from there type ipconfig/all and it will show u the ip address, subnetmask, default gateway, dns server.. I hope this will solve ur concern..

WL-520GC

You need to enter the Router's Menu. Its web Based you can type http://192.168.1.1 from your web browser to get into your Router's Menu. It might come up with Username and password request put "admin" for both of them (its default).Since the Menu is very easy to understand you will find all settings including security that you needed. Make sure your laptop had DHCP enabled and Router connected to computer.

Good Luck
