I have a MAH550BWW front load Maytag washer. The circular grey rubber boot which seals the door/tub has a small drain hole in the front - viewable if you pull the sealing portion of the gasket back torwards you. The problem-it does not drain away and appears clogged. The gasket was changed by a service co. about 2 months ago.
There is a 2" L shape hose connected to that drain hole under. You can unclog it using a soft plastic stick. Stick it on to that hole do not force it turn the plastic stick while putting it in. Thare are 2 types of door gasket on that model one has hole in it and the other doesn't. If your original doesn't have a hole, the one that has a hole will work but there is a plug on to that hole.
This is your door gasket

Just take the front panell off to see if there's a small hose connected to the gasket drain hole. You can even clean it after taking the panell off

The liquid sound is the sealed balance ring on the front of the stainless spin drum. This is sealed, will always have liquid in unless it breaks and becomes unsealed, leaked the caustic solution out. Normal sloshing sound.

you need to first unplug the unit. next you need to remove 4 screws that hold the dispenser lid on. next open the door remove 4 screws. remove the door and the out side panel. next located to the top left and right you will see a bracket with a 5/16 bolt remove them and take the bracket off. next lift the lid. you will have access to the door seal. you will see a spring at the top that is the band that holds the seal to the tub. the front of the seal just peels off. when putting the band and spring back on may be a little tricky. get one side up to the top gett a piece of duct tape and secure it. so that you can properly get the rest of the band on without fighting with it. get some vise grips and pull the spring over and attach to the part that is tapped. let me know if this helps or if you need more instructions.

My rule of thumb: Take what you paid for the washer new and divide by number of years without repairs. That is your cost per year for the washer. If the repair will get you another year and is less than the number above do the repair. If you have done more than 2 major repairs in a year it is time to think new. eric
