Crown XLS 802 D Amplifier Transformer!

I've recently bought the XLS802 amp from the US. Because they run at 110v @50hz, i need to change my transformer to 240v@60hz. Does anyone know the spec's for the xls802 transformer??, so i could get a transofrmer made to those spec's to run this amp over here?

You will need AC to AC converter that will accomodate US to UK mains. Look for power requirements of your amp on name plate and match with available converters online. Make sure power line frequencies match in/out requiremnts

How do i re wire it to 240v

for a start - if you want correct answer, then provide model, original voltage. if i am judging it from the picture this is skill floorboard saw made for us market (110/115v 60hz), you cannot rewire the motor - full stop! purchase step down transformer 240v/110v 6amps to 10amps, if in australia - this transformer will set you back about $60.00 if in euro, this transformer (depending on country) will cost you anything between 40euro and 60euro. transformer will have cable on one side for connection to the main and socket to connect to the saw cable.

you can modernise this arrangement by permanently mounting the transformer on the saw (there is enough room on the end of the runner to mount it there), cut the cable to sufficient length and connect it to the transformer on 110v side, leave as is on 240v side.

YOU CANNOT REWIRE FROM 240V TO 110V, NOR FROM 110V TO 240V to do so you will need to rewire rotor as well as stator, and that unfortunately is not really easy job... i know i was doing that about 50 years ago...

If it is an electronic or computerized machine, you are out of luck. USA has 110 volt 60Hz current, Australia has 220 volt 50Hz. A transformer can change 220 to 110 volts, but it cannot change 60Hz to 50Hz.

You need a power supply adapter. Might I suggest a 12v dc converter/inverter? The upside is that, for the money, you also get backup power to run your tv! Bonus!

You will need a good sized 12volt battery that will charge off of 110v house current and then the inverter will cover the rest. If the power there is bad or drops cycles you have everything covered because your inverter/tranformer does it all. Nice!

Here is the link to a website that sells these kinds of power supplies.

I have a 240v drill and need it converted to 110v as I can't use it at work. It is the Hitachi DC 30PC2.

Unfortunately thi sis not really possible internally, you need to purchase step up transformer 110V/115v 220V230V/240V with at least 2A rating, 50Hz/60Hz frequency and at least Watts as are on your drill, that is, I am afraid only solution to your problem. Check prices of the transformers as maybe purchse of new drill will be less expencive.

As you did not stated where you are, I cannot advice more closely where you can find these, for beginning I would suggest chasing one (step-up!) on auction sites and electrical wholesalers, tool dealers.

My andis T-outliner is makeing a loud noise

The problem you describe is most likely due to the fact that the machine you bought is designed to operate on 110v/60Hz electrical supply as used in North America. In fact the T-Outliner is only designed to operate on 110v/60Hz so even if you use a transformer you will only convert the voltage from 110v to 230v. You will not convert the frequency 'Hz' from 60Hz to 50Hz which is necessary with an electrical product with many moving parts such as a clipper to operate correctly on the European electrical supply which is 230v/50Hz........Check on ebay 'Voltage and Frequency Converter' about 65 pounds. The only solution

I recently purchased a Pioneer SC-07 in North America(110v/60Hz) and need to convert it to use in Australia (240/50Hz) Am I able to purchase power supply to make this happen?

You need to locate a power converter. This is basically a trqansformer that will convert the 240V system into a 110V system. These are generally available anywhere where travel supplies are sold. You can also contact Pioneer and see if they have a conversion kit which would require the replacement or alteration of the internal transformer on the unit.

This trimmer is only made to be used with 110V, we do not have this model in 240V. There is no way to stop the noise. If you would like to purchase a unit made for 240V please call 1-800-558-9441 and speak with one of the Andis customer service reps.

50Hz to 60Hz conversion

Hi, Your idea is basically sound and should work as long as the UPS originally is designed to produce 240V 60Hz and has its own built in timebase. The reason is that the input as long as the voltage matches makes no difference (50 or 60 Hz). By design, the UPS converts the input voltage to DC to charge the internal battery. The battery then powers an electronic circuitry that produces the 240V 60Hz. The input is then isolated from the output in terms of frequency. This is a common design, however, there are some (not many) that uses for its local oscillation sampling from the source and therefore will replicate the input frequency to its output, but very rare; it's better that you know they exist. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards. P.S. The only problem with 50 and 60 Hz is heat buildup which is tolerable and still within safe parameters. The only time the 50/60 HZ makes a big difference is when motors are used, timers such as in the early designs of microwave ovens, washing machines, etc., pumps and other highly inductive consumers. Most electronic devices converts the AC input to DC and therefore the frequency has negligible effect. Of course others may see it differently.
