Hmm...try taking the hard drive away from ur laptop and use a ''hard drive caddy'' to connect it via usb to another pc.Then format it and try to recover again. It might also be a bios error wich i don't think you can replace on a laptop motherboard. Also try contacting toshiba for a replace or refund if in warranty.

When dealing with this error (10-FC06-000D) message in Toshiba unit is very comment in the L300 series, I don’t know if Toshiba is using cheaper hard drives or what but I see a lot of them with the same problem. If you have a Toshiba unit got to their website to check if your unit is still under manufacture warranty if it is you have some options send it to Toshiba direct they should cover the shipping but I’m not to sure, or take it in to any Best Buy or Future shop stores with your proof of purchase and they will send it out for you. This is a hardware problem that is related to the hard drive, I wiped the hard drive and all it’s boot records still unable to reinstall the OS OK, I finally decided to use a test hard drive to reinstall the OS worked fine so there is something wrong with the hard drive that most likely would need to be replaced

This error comes up if the toshiba recovery cannot recognise the file system and partitions. try removing all partitions using the fdisk utility or a windows XP CD and then run the recovery.

Hi herteg63,
It seems as though your recovery partition on your laptop has been deleted/corrupted. You can order replacement DVDs to restore your laptop with all of the acer software. Here is the link to the site:
https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
It is also possible to install windows manually with the CD key on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop, if you happen to have Windows OEM CD with the correct service pack. You would need to download and install all of the drivers from the Toshiba website.
You could also bring it to a local PC shop and see if they could do that for you.
In the end ordering the CDs may be the easiest way.
I hope this helps,
Adam.

Try rebuffing the disk, Staples sells these CD/DVD salvaging devices. they are less than $20. Otherwise try installing the Windows OS from a bootable CD and loading the drivers manually if the disk you have is bad.
