Actual Model Number: LSQ8520JQO Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Spin cycle was making a terrible noise and then just quit. Will restart but the noise is real bad and will not finish the cycle. Checked the coupler, it is fine and was replaced about 2 months ago.
With motor and pump off and turning the drive by hand (other end of coupler non-motor side):
on the drive, I can rotate it counter-clockwise indefinately with no problem. Clockwise it will rotate and then stop. I can not budge it. Also, when I try to move the agitator by hand, it is really frozen in place now. Agitator will not turn by turning drive train with motor disconnected.
Can you recommend a solution with parts required and a link to the procedure - or has it met its demise.
Thanks for past and current help.
Then the transmission is bad the part number is 3360629 since you know about the drive coupling the you know wher the transmission is all you need to do to change it is
remove the agaitator
move pump to the side
drop dow the motor
remove motor wiring at switch
remove the retaing clip from the transmission for the motor wiring
the tranny is held in place with 3 half inch headed bolts
reinstall backwards and you are good to go

Perfect. Thank you. Will I need any other parts that may get damage during the transmission removal. Or others I should replace while in there?
Very helpful. Able to break down the pieces. But how do I get the clutch off the transmission?
