It's possible that the issue could be with a micro switch located on the ice maker cabinet that is activated when the prong on the back of the ice/auger tray is inserted. It's also possible that there could be another issue with the dispenser, such as a problem with the wiring or a malfunctioning component. I would recommend checking the wiring and testing any other micro switches or components that are related to the dispenser to see if they are functioning properly. If you are unsure how to do this, I would recommend consulting the user manual or contacting a qualified technician for further assistance.
hello. I am assumming that your model has the ice and water dispenser. Not all models do. On the rear of these models with the ice and water feature you will find a small [1/4 inch] line that has to be connected to a cold water supply source. If you go to most any hardware store you can get the little kit necessary to make this connection. The kit consists of a length of 1/4 inch tubing, the connector to attach to the tube at the rear of your appliance, a valve and a tapping kit to tap into your closest cold water source. If the fridge is near the kitchen sink, you may choose to connect under the sink. If not, make sure you purchase a kit with enough 1/4 inch tubing to reach your nearest cold water pipe. J.
Either the paddle for the ice/water dispenser is stuck or you have a bad microswitch behind the dispenser. To stop the ice/water from dispensing open the freezer door and press or hold the child lock button down. Once the unit is in child lock mode you can shut the door without energizing the dispenser. Another option is to remove the upper freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the wire connector up there. This will remove voltage from the dispenser as well. Then either replace the paddle or switch. Sometimes the paddles/switches will get stuck because of splash up from ice dropping in sugary drinks.
If the appliance have water dispenser and/or ice maker, the water line may be leaking, if so, needs to be re-installed again. Check the user manual for recommendations about the water line installations.
If there is no water line, looks like the appliance is installed in a location with high levels of humidity as the compressor is not able to evaporate all the water collected by the freezer. Check that the fridge door closes correctly and the seal door is good.
When i operate the water dispenser, water flows out from the dispenser [not strong flow]. There is also water flowing out at the bottom of the freezer door [hinge area]
I think the line running inside the freezer door may have come loose? If so, how to reattach it? Do u have any layout drawings of how the hose is being connected.
I lowered the temp on the freezer to 4 overnight, by morning water dispenser is working fine. I think that when we changed the temp to 7 (in order to make more ice ) it froze the water pipe going to the dispenser. I am going to keep both fridge and freezer at 5 ,and hope this will not happen again.
