"IE" is an error code that indicates a water inlet problem on an LG washing machine. This code will appear if the washer is not filled to the correct level within eight minutes after switching it on. Possible causes for the IE code include partially closed taps, improperly attached inlet hoses or clogged inlet hose filters.
I have bought LG front load Direct drive few days back, I am getting the IE error codes, what I am doing is when I put clothes turn on the water TAP and turn on washing machine, when I put to quick 30 mode it should complete all 3 modes in 30 min . but give IE error codes after sometimes.
can you tell me proper usage of it. means should I let the washer to fill with water for 8 min. then I should on the washing machine, how should I go.
And the water tap should be kept on till completing washing procedure fully. then turning off the water tap, does the washing machine closed water supply automatically.
please tell me solution, of proper usage

Just got a new LG top load today and already giving the IE error code. The problem caused a very low flow going to the cold water inlet, probably a bad shut off valve. Temporary i fixed the problem by installing a Y connector to the hot water side and hooked both inlet hoses to it. I know i'm only using hot water for the wash for now until i get the cold water shut off valve fix. So check the flow of each side by disconnecting the hose from the washer then put that end into a bucket and turn on the water, if the water is slow ,trickling then the machine will likely to give the IE error code.

Got an IE error today - my cause appears to be frozen water pipes not letting water through and thus into the inlets.......
If you move the washer forward away from wall, you can close the water valves at the wall and unplug the hoses from the back of the wahser. You will need a set of needle noses to pull and remove the inlet screen filters. The screens filter out larer debris from old rusty pipes. Remove them and run some waterto clean the screen. You can use a toothbrush to brush lightly and get a really clean screen. Next, reinsert the screen and reconnect the hose. Follow the same operations for the hot side. Error should go away.....

This a common problem for all front loaders. Your washer will not drain
or work 'cause your outlet filter is clogged or an unusually heavy
load. The small door is on the left side front bottom of your washer.
Remove the door with a putty knife or thin butter knife inserted in the
middle top of the access panel door. Drain the water from the filter
housing by pulling the tube out of the clip and unplugging, allow it to
run into a bucket while the machine is in spin only mode. This mode is
acheived when the washer is first powered on press the spin button
until no spin is reached then run. Run in this mode until no water is
draining from the tube in the bucket. Keep the tube as low as possible.
When water has stopped coming out of the tube turn off the washer and
unplug from the wall. This step is important because this resets the
fault. Expect some water to come out when you open the filter housing
by turning counterclockwise until you can pull the filter from its
housing. Clean out your filter, return to housing turning clockwise
until seated and recap the tube and place in the holder, refit the
cover and plug back into the wall. Fixed. You may also need to lighten
the load a bit but I always try full on load anyways. If it fails again
just lighten, unplug wait >1 minute then replug and run.

hi,
this is a tachogenerator fault or the drive motor brushes are faulty. you will need a Miele service tech or a Miele service agent to look at this.

"OE" is really "DE"= drain error. Clean out filter behind access door on lower left corner front panel of machine. (there will be some water in machine)
"IE" = inlet error. machine took too long to fill. clean out inlet water screens where the hoses connect onto machine.
