JCD2389GES Side by side

The water tank in the refrigerator section has spruing a leak. The connecor to the water tank appear to be heat fused to the pipes. Is it possible to replace the water tank without heat-fusing the pipes to it.
In addition the ice make has stopped working. Is it possible that these two problems are connected?

Thanks, but how do I hook up the pipes to the new tank? It looks like I need some special tool to heat fuse the pipes to it.

Jenn air side by side JCD2389GES ****** still won

If there are only a few rows producing cold from the freezer it may be a Freon leak. Remove the rear panel inside the back wall of your freezer and examine the frost pattern. When a refrigerator has enough Freon it will have the complete evaporator covered with frost. Here is a photo of what a frost pattern looks like with only a few rows.

Unfortunately if this is what you see with evaporator exposed you will be better off shopping for a new replacement refrigerator because the cost to repair is just not worth the expense to have someone repair your refrigerator. If you have questions please ask, Thanks Sea Breeze

MY JENN-AIR REFRIGERATOR #JCD2389GES IS NOT COOLING ON THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE. THE FREEZER IS OKAY. THE REFRIGERATOR TEMPERTURE IS 60 DEGREES F.

Possible that the vent is getting blocked to prevent the cool air to be blown into the fridge section. So make sure that the auto defrost is working, if not check the auto defrost timer section, the fan, the heaters.
make sure that the thermostat is set to normal.
Finally shut off the fridge for 6-8 hours and see if the cooling resumes. If so the defrost section must be revisited

Water leaks in freezer model jcd2389ges

the defrost cycle via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates. (See a more detailed explanation of this in the How Things Work section of our website). If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan. In some refrigerators, the defrost water is intentionally directed down the back wall of the refrigerator, where it then flows to the bottom of the refrigerator compartment and out to a small drain--usually located beneath one of the drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator. If the drain becomes clogged or blocked, the water may back up. To fix this problem, clear the obstruction. Another cause may be the following. The refrigerator may have doorframe heaters to evaporate any condensation on the cabinet frame. If your refrigerator is equipped with a switch inside that says “energy saver” or something similar, while running in that mode the door heaters are disabled. Turn the switch to the opposite setting and wait 24 hours. If the condensation disappears the problem is solved. The back of the refrigerator

Ice and water not working, then freezing in refrigerator, leaking

If the water tank in the fresh food section is leaking then you will need to replace it. the freezing in the fresh food section is due to the damper door not closing when it should. at the top left of the fresh food side there is a door that controls how much cold air it gets from the Freezer side. This door on your GE is controled by a motorized door witch is controled by a controlboard witch is reading sensors in your freezer and freshfood section for tempretures.

In short your freezing problem could be any of these:
temp sensor, Motorized damper door or control board. I would check the Motorized damper door first.
