Cold/cold cyle wash water not cold

When I run the cold/cold cycle the wash cycle water is warm. The hoses are hooked up correctly and screens are clear. I turned off the hot water inlet to see if it would run with just the cold but got a flow error signal. Any suggestions

thank you but I have already done all of the trouble shooting via the Whirlpool website. I suspect it has something to do with the water inlet control wiring and was hoping for a more techinically focused response.

Somehow the comment I intended for ser71 ended up on yours. What I had intended to reply to you was that I was confused by your answer as what I am trying to do is run the cold cycle option but I end up with warm or hot water in during the wash

I live in a very rural area and therefore have difficulty getting someone to come for such repairs. Do you suggest I change out the computer module? Thank you.

Warm cycle works the same as the hot cycle. Cold cycles work perfectly.

The water temperature is not correct - Front-load washer
Answer

Is the washer new or just recently installed? Are the hot and cold water inlet hoses reversed?
Check to see if the hot and cold water inlet hoses were reversed during installation. If so, turn off the water lines at the faucet. Check that the rubber gaskets are in each of the inlet hose connections. Reconnect the hot inlet hose to the hot faucet and the cold inlet hose to the cold faucet. Turn the water back on and check that there are not any leaks. See the Installation Instructions for details.
Is the water heater a distance from the washer?
The distance from the water heater to the washer can make a difference in water temperature during start-up operation. To ensure a warm wash, run the water at the nearest sink until you have hot water and then begin a load of laundry.
Are you washing many loads in a short amount of time?
Washing many loads in a short amount of time may use up the available hot water faster than your water heater can produce. You may notice lower hot or warm water temperatures. This is normal.

When my Kenmore machine is running on the wash cycle warm/warm no water is coming at all. I could run the machine only with cold water even on the cycle warm/cold.

Most likely the hot water hose is plugged up, or least likely, the hot/cold valve is broken or plugged up.
Find a large container, or better yet, hook up a garden hose that you might try the faucet where the hot water is hooked up and see if water will come out of it when the washer hose is not hooked up there.
If it will not, you have a plugged up hot water pipe or the water heater shut off valve is closed.
If you get good water pressure and hot water from the faucet, look at the filter screens that are inside the ends of the hot water hose and see if any are plugged up.
There may be several.
If not, perhaps the inlet water solenoid has failed. That plastic part is where the hoses attach to the washer itself.
God bless your efforts.

When the machine is in any COLD water cycle the water only trickles out. This is not a problem when using warm or hot water cycles.

replace the inlet valve located in the back of the washer where the hoses hook up at or take the hoses off and see if the screens are dirty in the valve

Front load kenmore washer will not fill on rinse cycle

yes you should have both hot and cold hooked up. if that is not possible splice the line you have and y it into both inlets. thats not the best way to do it but will solve the imediate problem.

Maytag MAV6200 will not washer on cold water cycle. Could this be a problem with the push button switch? Washes on all other cycles. However, the warm water is very hot, not warm.

Your cold water inlet valve has more than likely fialed.or.... the inlet screen is completely clogged. First turn off the water to your unit both hot and cold water lines. Then select the wash cycle w
ith hot water only and listen for a hum from the inlet water valve. Then select cold and see if you hear a similar hum. If you do not hear a likewise hum then the cold water solenoid on the water valve has failed and will need to be replaced. (Sometimes this requires the entire water valve be replaced due to the design of the assy) If you hear a similar hum then remove the hoses from the water valve and check for a clogged inlet screen just inside the water hose attachment fitting. If you can not tell if it is clogged remove the screen and hold it up to the light. You should be able to see light through the screen. If it is clogged scrub and wash the screen under running water. It is prety easy to tell if you have it clean. Once you finish reinstall the screen in the water inlet valve, reconnect the hoses and turn on the water. Good luck.

When washing machine goes to rinse cycle, water barely comes in

I am going to guess you run a warm wash, and cold rinse. This sounds like the screen on the cold water inlet is clogged. Shut the water off and remove the hose at the back of the machine. Look in the water inlet and see if the screen is clogged. If so, carefully scrape it as clean as you can. Use a straw and blow into it to help clear it out. Replace the hose and try it. It does not need to be perfectly clean, but at least half way opened will suffice.

Maytag performa washer hot/cold cycles reverse, hooked up correct

This sounds like a cold water supply problem that's usually caused by a problem at the water inlet valve. First, remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve. Make sure they are not clogged with rust or debris. Next, check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Water barely trickles out for rinse cycle

Hello,

It sounds like you have some buildup in the cold water valve screen. Where the hose connects to the washer there should be a screen inside the valve. Remove the cold water hose from the washer and clear any debri on the valve screen.

If this doesn't fix the slow cold water flow then you will have to replace the whole water valve assembly. The water valve is the piece that the hoses connect too and supply water to the washer.

If you have anymore questions about this please ask. I will be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks

Washer will won't run cold water cycle

Some washing machines allow cold water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally.

If you're sure the machine is not working the way it used to--or should--check the following.

  • Is the cold water turned on? If not, turn it on.

  • Is the washer getting hot water but no cold water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct.

  • Is there cold water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you need to replace the valve.

  • Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. – I would greatly appreciate a FixYa! rating if the solution I provided fixed or helped you fix your problem.
