We have a ice maker in our kenmore refrigerator, its running but how do we get water to the ice maker? i see the hose but does it get water from the refrigerator or do we need to hook up a water line. Its a kenmore coldspot refrigerator
Yes you need to hook up a line froun the cold water supply of the house to the water valve that is located at the back of the ref to the water valve that is down at the botton right corner
follow the water line from the top going into the icemaker down to the bottom there is where the valve is located behind the back cover

Hi, Anonymous
More likely the filter got contaminated.
You need to replace it as well. Here is a link to Sears Partsdirect

Were the hose goes into the ice maker from the back, take it out and they're a round insert about 6" long and see if its stoped up with ice. If it melt it with a air dryer and put it back in, and shouldn't have no more problems
check for water then check water valve where hose connects. the see if the is water in ice maker if so then wait for ice, if no water it could be the valve
it sounds like your inlet water valve is not closing all the way, pull frig out turn water off, remove valve get model number from inside the frig. and replace it,let me know-mike
You have two separate solenoids to your ice and water. One controls the water the other the ice maker. Check the ice maker solenoid and see if it is getting 110v to it and is opening. You will find it in back of the refer under the cardboard panel. Just follow the hoses.
