SOURCE: no water is going onto the ice maker (Maytag Model # MZD2766gew)

the water solenoid valve is normally triggered by the ice maker itself. as it turn to harvest the ice, it should trigger the water solenoid valve to start another cycle of ice making. its either a wire harness problem that's why power is not getting to the valve or the triggering switch of the ice maker not sending power to the solenoid. i hope i was able to help you guys...

SOURCE: kenmoore refridgator side by side rubber gets hot

If you have a model with an energy saver switch turn the switch on. This reduces the heat to the mullion heater built into the door frame.
The door frame heater is used to prevent moisture from condensing on the seal surface around the door and acts as a thermal break between the outside and temperature inside the refrigerator.

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

The water on my Kenmoore fridge is not working

Pull the machine out and remove the lower back cover. Locate the water valve. With the water turned on and connected remove the 5/16" water line (the bigger one) and then have someone else press the water in the door. If the cylinoid is operating correctly it should spray water out. If it is not operating properly it should at least hum and vibrate. If that does not occur your problem lies elsewhere. As far as the smaller line (1/4") you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve.

I have model #TFX25PRYAWW. Ice maker is not filling with water. Water still operates through door dispenser.

NUMBER 800 is your water valve. It has 2 solenoids. One for water and one for ice. I suspect your ice solenoid is on the blink. It could also be dripping slowly like a faucet and clogging like a stalagmite the ice maker fill nozzle. The only other thing in the ice box that controls that water valve is the ice maker itself. if the water valve is ok then the ice maker ain't getting the power to that water valve solenoid.

No Ice...

the hose that goes to the ice maker comes from a solonoid operated valve located at the bottom of the refrigerator (under the cardboard cover usually .. there are two valves .. one is for the water and the second is for the ice maker .. the ice maker valve is likely stuck or clogged (or might have an open coil) .. you can hear the water one click when you operate the water dispenser .. that makes it easy to locate ..you can also hear the ice maker one click when there is a demand for water by the ice maker (but that doesnt happen very often).... sometimes the valves are ganged together (one unit) so both have to be replace at the same time ... sometimes you can disassemble the valve and clean it if you are really handy but replacement is usually easier and you dont risk leaks so much .. on the hose that goes to the ice maker, once its disconnected from the valve you should be able to blow air thru it if its not frozen or clogged inside the freezer .. ..

It stopped making ice but cold water option works fine. No clogs visible. Changed cold setting to 7 from 5. Nothing worked. just took out water filter, but can't see how that was the problem.

Put the filter back in . Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it dumps , then replace the water inlet valve . If it doesn't dump and the ice stays in the icemaker , replace the icemaker . Also , make sure the coils are clean of dust etc... Reset the controls back to normal or you could create water freezing in door (dispensor) .

Ours kitchenaid icemaker has stopped making ice. It makes a few very slowley. It has clogged up in the box a few times and we have taken it out and cleaned it out of the frozen pieces. Do we need a part?

hello. i can assist you.
If the ice maker is producing ice poorly--making small cubes or too few cubes--you probably have a clogged water line, a defective water-inlet valve, or a defective ice maker mold thermostat that isn't cycling properly. Check these:

  • The water line that's attached to the back of the refrigerator. Make sure you have good water flow. If the flow is poor, repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water.

  • The water-inlet valve. Replace it if it has failed.

  • Check the freezer temperature. If should be 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker mold thermostat. Make sure that it's cycling properly.

Ice maker works, but I can't get a drop from the water dispensor

If you are making ice then the chances are that the solenoid or the switch mechanism is bad on the water side. The water valve has two solenoids that control water flow. The icemaker side is control by the cam switch that rotates on cycling ice drops and the water side is controlled by the door switch which operates the water valve. If you hear the click when you activate the door switch, listen to see if you hear a clicking near the back of the refrigerater when you hit the switch. There is also a possibility that the water inlet screen is clogged with debris.

Ice buildup on freezer floor.auto defrost puts water on floor

You have a clogged drain. If you have a top mounted freezer you might have the drain line on the outside of the fridge. Look for a tube that is thicker than the water intake line and goes from back of bottom of freezer down into the back of the unit to a drain pan. Remove that tube and take it outside and use your hose to shoot a stream of water to clean it out.
If you have a side by side fridge, your drain is still at the lowest point at the rear of your freezer. You may have to removed the rear wall of the freezer to get at it. Remove the back cover to get at the other end of the drain tube. It needs to be cleaned out also.

GE model GSH25JFTACC ice maker not working

When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

Water dispenser does not work

The lines are likely clogged and will need to be removed and cleaned. Otherwise, although the pump starts, the valve may be clogged or non-functional.
