your refrig. goes through a periodic defrost cycle whereby this water is produced. It is supposed to travel down to the evaporation pan near the floor of the frig. Your evaportation pan may be clogged, remove the front lower panel and get a flashlight and examine it., or the tube leading from the freezer floor may be clogged or have ice it it. Check that out and if the opening of the tube has ice in it, melt it with a hair blow dryer

Freezer bottom, take out the drawer, There is a gutter in the back elevated with a hole towards left. Somewhere it said stick a chinese chopstick or smt that wouldn't damage insides but that did not work. I did that for a second time after a week today (it leaked again) and immediately after I put 1 tea-spoon of baking soda and two cups of hot water through that hole, as per ge service site, pdf files 39-6296 p11? and 39-6401, which are users manuals. search with model no. like csh24gr ending with t or x both older models come up anyway. Drawers brake esy, becareful. No pan back or front undersides for drain or evaporation. There is some schematics to how they engineerd the evaporation.hotptci
very common blocked drain to cure unplug appliance defrost then remuve bottom panel freezer side you will find a silver tray with a drain chnnel unblock the hole that should cure it
there is a drip pan under the freg. check the drain hole at the buttom fo the freeze side. make sure it is open.
you can get to the drain pan via front grill. pull the front grill. and you will see the drain pan.
For original poster: Check all milky white colored (polyethelne) plastic water lines. These lines tend to get brittle and can crack over a period of time. They extend from the water valve to the ice maker, and from the water valve to the inside of the refrig to a "radiator" so the water can chill, before it runs back out the refrig, past the left side of the refrig behind the bottom grill, through a coupler, and up through the bottom hinge of the freezer door. I'd also advise putting in a separate shut off for the water supply to the refrig so you can have water to the rest of your house when you have a problem with the refrig.
For next user with similar problem: you can check the above, but it may be that the defrost drain is plugged. (on a S x S unit, it is located at the bottom of the freezer compartment, behind the back wall.) If you have a layer of ice on the floor of the freezer, that's a dead give away of a blocked defrost drain tube, Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush it out.
Do you have a Dog ??? I had a customer who had a problem like this once.................Only to find out in the middle of the night the dog jumped up and with his nose pressed the water dispenser..If not plz check inside the freezer and see if your drain is clogged pull the bottom drawer out and look on the back wall..
PS: the pan even with a clear drain will not fill up the condenser fan with the heat from the condenser will evaparate the water after a defrost cycle
