Ice maker won't flip ice into bin - it was empty except for one piece of ice so I poured hot water and worked the ice loose. Now it has solid ice in it but the mechanism appears to be stuck or frozen.

Just had mine repaired. The evaporator drain is plugged with ice. The solution is to replace the heat sensor and add a piece of metal extending from the small heat coil under the evaporator that supplements the piece already there. The guy that repaired mine used a piece of coat hanger wire for the extension. Except for the heat sensor, it's a repair anyone can do. Just take off the plastic cover on the inside back of the fridge, melt the ice obstruction in the drain and hang a piece of wire from the heat coil into the drain. He also used some metallic duct tape to raise the height of the drain tray on the ends so that it wouldn't overflow in the future.
does the water dispenser work OK ? if yes , a try this : pour 3/4 of a cup of water into the ice maker, right into where the ejection fingers are. also , take all of the ice out of the ice bin. then , give the freezer time to freeze the water you have poured into the ice maker and see if the ice maker ejects the ice into the bin. if it does, it might reset itself and refill the unit and work normally.
I've had lots of problems with my Bosch refrigerator ice maker. The ice tray has a tab on the back corner that twists the tray when it cycle to empty the ice. That tab broke off and when I looked into replacing the ice tray the authorized Bosch dealer said the tray is only sold with the complete ice maker unit. Sells for about $160. I have a hard time spending $160 for another complete ice maker when I only need a $10 replacement ice tray. This ice maker is sub-par for an appliance name brand like Bosch.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then
try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell
you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice
maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear
it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube
it will freeze. You can take the water
line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
Many ice makers have an adjustment screw behind the front cover that shows plus or minus. Try the minus turn of the screw that should shorten the amount of time the ice maker fills. If electronic please call the company you purchased it from and explain the problem. Sea Breeze
As these ice makers cycle there is an arm that moves up while the ice is being freed from the ice maker. After the ice is dumped into the dispenser bin the arm continues a downward motion. If it encounters ice in the downward travel it shuts the ice maker off. If this arm is locked in the full up position the ice maker is manually shut off. Check this arm and make sure it is not locked in the up position.
check if there is ice in the ice maker, see if there is water coming in to the ice maker. maybe a water problem or a solenoid problem...if there is no ice in the ice maker...try to pour manually a cup of water on the ice maker and empty the ice bin so that you can observe if the ice maker is working if there would be ice in the bin after an hour. if there is ice, then a water problem is most likely to look at. i hope the freezer is working perfectly..
