I have a string craftsman weed wacker an the string that cuts the grass went inside the head i can see there is plenty of string left is there a way to get it back out so i can use it

remove the spool and wind the spring hold it with a screw driver thread string and make a knot on the end release the spring and reattach the spool if you need visual instructions try Sears parts.com they will help.

The parts diagram above shows part #25, that part located just behind the head should have a small hole in the side about 1/4" diameter. That hole lines up with another hole inside to stop the shaft from turning . You need to line up both holes visually then insert a small phillips screwdriver in through both holes, that will hold the shaft still while you turn the whole head assembly with your hand. When removing the head assembly it should turn counter clock wise,when looking at it from an operating position, meaning that the threads are left handed.

Very easy. There is usualy only one nut to undo. You need to grip the head somehow, to stop it turning, and simply undo the nut with a suitable socket wrench. From my experience, most of the nuts on weed wackers are left hand thread, so to undo the nut, turn it clockwise.
