IE is water inlet error...The waterinlet valve is most probably faulty...To access this you need to release the top of the machine by unscrewing the screws under the rear lip. 'Bump' the top panel back to unclip, and the inlet valve will be exposed. Make sure you mark the wires so they go back in the same positions as before.. Make sure the hoses are in the same pos'n, too!.....Good luck...Nomess

The "IE" error code indicates that there is a water inlet problem on an LG washing machine. This code appear's if the washer will not fill to the correct water level. There are 3 possible causes for the IE code.
1) partially or fully closed water supply lines
2) improperly attached supply hoses
3) clogged supply hose filters (on machine and in the hoses).

Ie code comes up washer wont fill up

An 'IE' error code on the display indicates an inlet error, or that the washer was unable to fill with water within a determined amount of time. Before replacing the water valves, check that there is not blockage at the valves. turn off the water, remove the water supply hoses from the valve, and see if there is a build up of sediment, rust, etc on the valve screens. If there is, you can remove the little screens and clean them. If all or any filter screens are ok, replace the valve assembly.

THE SCREEN SHOWS IE

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes. If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.
There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly.
If the inlet hoses are not attached to the machine correctly, it will prevent proper water flow to the washer. Turn off the hot and cold water supply then disconnect and reconnect the inlet hoses. Ensure that they are threaded properly. After the hoses have been reconnected, open the water taps completely, check for leaks, and unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.
And finely if all of this does not work then the inlet valve on the machine needs to be replaced ok?
Hope this all helps

An IE code comes on my washing machine and when this happens it does not go through the final rinse cycle

Error code of "IE" signifies a water inlet error.

This means that your machine is not filling to the proper water level, and may be fixed by ensuring that machine's water supply is properly connected and turned on. Also, this means that the washer has not filled with water in 8 minutes.

Hope helps.

Code ie machine fills with water but does not spin.

code ie + Inlet Error. Either the washer is taking too long to fill, or at least one of the inlet screens (usually the cold) is plugged. Turn off house supply valves so you can remove hoses from the back of the machine and then pull the screens out to clean them out. Replace the screens, re-connect hoses, turn valves back on and test.

What does the IE error code mean? The washer wont drain.

The IE fault code indicates that your washer is not filling properly with water This error code is displayed if the washer is not fully drained within 10 minutes. I will give you troubleshooting tips for both the fill problem and the drain problem.

To troubleshoot a drain problem, follow these steps:

  • Follow the steps on page 17 of your owner's manual to clean the drain pump filter. If you do not have your owner's manual, you can access it on our Manage My Home website.
  • Check your drain hose for kinks or clogs.
  • Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed according to the installation instructions for your washer.

Here are some troubleshooting steps for the filling problem:

  • Make sure that the water valves behind your washer are fully open.
  • Check the filter screens on the inlet valves where your fill hoses connect to the back of the washer. If debris is clogging the screens, remove the screens and thoroughly clean them. Flush the inlet openings thoroughly with water to prevent debris from entering the washer and corrupting the inlet water valves.
  • A drain installation problem can cause siphoning of washer fill water. Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed per the installation guidelines for your washer.
