How do i change thermostat on a indesit model idl55 dishwasher?

First step: Find the thermostat. You will find documentation online that should tell you where to look.

Second Step: Using documentation and perhaps the failing thermostat, order a replacement. There are numerous suppliers online.

Third Step: When the replacement arrives, install it where the old thermostat was mounted, connecting electrical lines as required. Note: Disconnect Power before installing replacement!

Fourth Step: Verify the new unit corrected the original problem.

Good Luck,
Pete

Hi I have a hoover washing machine which is now showing a F13 error while tumble drying what could be the problem

Depending on the model, there may be subtle variations to the error code meaning for F13, but essentially it will mean "Dryer fan or dryer thermisotor faulty or open or short circuit."

There is a high probability it is a thermistor tripping out. It cuts power to the heater or fan, or both if the tumble dryer function overheats. If you take the top off the machine, somewhere in the area of the heating element, you will see the thermistor (There could be more than one). It's round, about the size of your thumbnail, set into an oval metal casing, usually with 2 holes in it to mount it and a couple of spade connectors coming off it..

(See a picture here: http://www.espares.co.uk/part/tumble-dryers/thermostats/indesit/isl70c/p/1587/805/0/552087/552036/tumble-dryer-thermostat-k.html)

It may need replacement, or you may be able to reset it. If it is one that can be reset, the back will have a small hole in it that you can poke a paperclip end into.

Basically, the thermistor is a convex bi-metal disc that, when it gets too hot, pings and becomes concave, by pushing a paperclip into the hole, you push out the disc and make it concave again (You will hear it click as you push the pin in).

You can test to see if it is the thermistor that has tripped by bypassing it (Jump a wire from one spade to the other) and seeing if the machine then tumbles and heats as it should. DO NOT leave it like this! It is a fire risk as you will have bypassed the fail safe!.

Also ask yourself WHY it tripped in the first place. The primary cause is simply a blocked lint filter that is not allowing enough air passage and causing an overheat, but it could also be a faulty heater element that is burning out.

Hope this all helps

The dryer on our Indesit WD 12x has stopped working, any ideas please?

More than likely heater and or thermostat/s problem.
These are located in the top of the washer.
Remove top cover, and you will see a long aluminium box, this is the heater manifold, and the element is inside here, the thermostats are on the top, you will need a meter to test them.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Indesit DI620UK Dishwasher fault

If the dry cycle has a problem, check these:

Heating element
Drying fan
Thermostat
Heating element Your dishwasher has an electrical heating element that helps to dry the dishes. If the element is burned out, the dishes won't dry properly, and you need to replace the element.

Drying fan Many high-priced dishwashers have a small fan that blows air or heated air into the dishwasher to speed up the drying process. If the fan is defective, you need to replace it.

Thermostat Some dishwashers have a thermostat that monitors the drying temperature. If the thermostat is defective, the heating element may not cycle on or off properly. If that's the problem, you need to replace the thermostat

Indesit WIE 147 - Display 'F-03' fault

Indesit washing machine error code 3 (F03) On certain Indesit washing machines, if the on off light is flashing 3 times, with a slight pause, followed by flashing a further 3 times, or if it is didplaying F03 you have an error code that is explained as follows -
NTC fault - check Thermistor and module connections.
The NTC is the thermistor, which is a modern-day thermostat. It’s inserted into a tube in the heating element and is filled with heat sensitive crystals that change their electrical resistance according to their temperature. By knowing what electrical resistance the crystals have at given temperatures they can tell the water temperature.
With this fault the NTC is either faulty, or there’s a dodgy connection to or from it or there’s a connection problem where it connects to the main PCB.
It’s not something you can easily fault find yourself unfortunately, apart from if there was an obvious broken wire.

Per Maytag, they suggest you unplug the washer for 20 minutes and see if that resets the circuit board.
