After installing disc, screen shows no disc. What gives? Goes through loading cycle, the right to no disc.

Sounds like the laser pickup unit to the DVD player is faulty. Contact any service technician to replace it. The disc mechanism should be taken out of it to replace this part.

THere may be a weak loading belt, the CD door cannot quite complete the cycle to close, so there for it ejects the disc.

please try to insert the disk.
Activate start
Click Run
Give in the string - explorer
Click OK
Click This Computer
Click the drive for DVD - probably D: (can vari)
Click/Activate the file setup.exe placed on the disc.

This should work - this is a way of starting the installation if the disc is not set up to autorun.

Press F8 continuously while starting the computer. When black screen appears eventually (right before Windows loads), choose Last Known Good Configuration.

What you did is not at all wrong... it generally happens if any booting files in the operating system are missing... and it will be resolved when you re-install the operating system.

Relax, nothing happened. repairing with those discs will resolve your issue.

boot from your windows xp installation disc or system restore disc.......

either do a Repair Or Restore (windows=Repair)

There seems to be a problem with the operating system that is being installed. This often happens if you use the restore disks that came from another computer.

Are you sure that you used the disks that came with that exact computer? Does it flash a blue screen right before restarting the cycle?

Try the restore over again and if the problem persists, you may have to either order new restore disks for your computer or buy a fresh copy of Windows XP.

Machine has a bad motor or "stator" on this machine. It is a direct drive winding on the back of the machine. Remove the back panel, the one bolt removes the rotor then you will see the stator winding, replace it and your good to go.
