Hi The old thermostat broke down and the AC technician bypassed the thermostat on our external Brivis Buffalo. I have a new programmible Honeywell Pro 8000 Thermostat, however when the electrician installed it. It still is not being regulated by the thermostat? How do I remove the bypass of the thermostat? Hope you can help Neil - Canberra

Well, how did he bypass the thermostat? Is it just a wire? First turn off the power to the unit and then simply remove the bypass by cutting it out or unscrewing it. I'm not exactly sure what he did, but if you take a picture and post it here of the bypass (as you can bypass something different ways) then I can tell you what to do.
If you are unable to post a picture here, email it to me at [email protected]
Let me know how this works out for you.

Have you tried testing the thermostat? Check it's resistance by first disconnecting it. The resistance should be around 1000 ohms, not sure on the exact measurement at this time but let me know what you get. Also if you can send me a picture of the wiring, I do better with visually seeing it. Thanks

whatever problem you are having with brivis buffalo, the first thing you need to try is RESET. This is how you reset.
1. turn off your heater from wall switch for at-leat 5 sec
2. turn on your wall switch for 5 sec
3. repeat step 1 and 2 for atleast 3 times within 60 sec

my brivis buffalo 20 was keep turning off after 30 min. RESET fixed my problem

I have a Brivis Buffalo 85, pilot light is on main burners will not ignite when turned on? It seems like gas isnt allowed to bar which turns on main burners

Usually a thermocouple or similar device is employed to allow fuel to flow once the unit sees that there is sufficient heat to ignite the fuel. Otherwise it can be a fuel valve that "sees" an unusual flow of gas which sets off the safety.

Pilot lights up but would not fire up into heating, I have brivis buffalo 85

This is the proper cycle of a furnace and what should happen.

Inducer motor kicks on, it runs for a little bit, about 3-5 seconds, then you should see a bright yellow glow, this is the igniter, shortly after, you should hear a click and the gas should start to flow, almost immediately it turns to a blue flame. Then your igniter should turn off and the blower motor start up.

If the pilot turns on and the gas ignites, then shortly after the unit shuts off, chances are this is your blower motor. It is not starting up, then the heat limit is reached in your unit and the safety shuts it off.
