USIM is the SIM card for 3G networks (U stands for UMTS). It operates under a different voltage level, as compared to the normal SIM card.
Many operators (like mine here) don't make a distintion, related to their service, between them, i.e. I can access the 3G network with my old SIM card. As far as I know, USIM cards shouldn't be put in non-3G phones. On the other hand, 3G enabled phones are able to handle both types.

contact your network provider.. PUK means PIN UNLOCKING KEY.. meaning, The PIN code of your sim card or USIM is locked. or if you still have the case of your simcard or USIM you should able to locate the PUK code. Cheers!

What does inactive Usim mean
a usim is like a mini computer sim, it is able to run things like video call and has a large memory capacity for example it can hold alot more phone contacts than the average sim, you could say a usim is like when you upgrade the memory on your pc. If it is inactive , if it was working before you will need to contact your network provider, explain it has gone inaactive and they should be able to sort it over the phone for you. USIM is 3G only SIM card and is working ONLY with 3G enabled devices. LG Cookie isn't 3G device so it won't accept USIM.

it simply means your phone is network locked. To unlock it you need to buy unlock code. You can get LG Cookie unlock code at FastGSM.

Hi,

it sounds weird that it worked before with same sim card. Generally USIM locked message means phone is locked to network and you need to unlock it with network unlock code to remove USIM locked and use phone on different network.

My lg viewty invalid usim
Debbie invalid usim means its been barred by the network, so whom ever the network provider is for the phone you will have to give them a call and ask them to un barr as you have just brought it. We brought on off ebay at christmas on orange as we're on orange and had the same problem. We called them and they took the barr off straight away, no charge. Jan

what kind of USIM are you guys using? 2G or 3G?
it seems that there is something amiss when using 3G USIM.
try taking out the USIM and cleaning it. when putting it back make sure that the gold metal plates are in full contact of the phones'
