How can you NOT make a slideshow for YouTube. There are so many ways it's crazy. Just to name a few options I use...

1. The easiest way is to setup the presentation in PowerPoint and then "save as WMF", then upload to YouTube using their web interface.
2. Also a good alternative with still shot graphics is to import the pictures into Windows movie maker or iMovie on the Mac and then pull each still shot into the frame at the bottom. It'll make each one about 6 seconds of video. Export it as a movie and inport through the YouTube site.
3. Macromedia Flash of course will let you import graphics to you timeline which can be saved as AVI or FLA.
   
4. I think OpenOffice Impress will similarly export to AVI as well and then can similarly be uploaded via the YouTube site.
