THE UNIT BLOWS COOL AIR OUT THE FRONT BUT HOT AIR OUT THE BACK THE MODEL IS aP076E .i DO NOT HAVE A MANUAL BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE REAL HARD TO RUN THANKS

Yes, that is the way a typical air conditioner works. The portable types need to have the hot discharge air direct outside via flexible hose and an adjustable window bracket. The window closes on the bracket to create a seal, and the hose connects between the air conditioner discharge and the opening in the bracket. This is called "venting". Most portable air conditioners include (or offer as an accessory) a "vent kit" or "window kit".

Some portable air conditioners do not provide a way to vent - fortunately yours appears to have a kit for this purpose. You may wish to check out this page on venting. It has plenty of ideas and suggestions for venting. This site has some very good pictures to document making a vent - and is worth a look, too.

If this was helpful, please rate it "4 thumbs up" - thanks!

I cant find the booklet that goes with my Amana Portable Inroom AC. Model # ap148D

The Amana portable a/c units have their documentation at Haier America. The direct link to the manual you want is here: http://crm.haieramerica.com/PUBLIC/User%20manual%20AP148D.pdf . If you want to buy the manual, go to http://www.partstore.com/Model/HAIER+AMERICA+TRADING/Haier/AP148D/Other+Cables,+Cords+%26+Wires.aspx . Scroll down to the All Parts section and then find the Use and Care Manual for $4.56. (It is a special order.)

I also found a link to the manual for the AP148DS here: http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/ex/thread/view/idThread/295978 . However, you need to be a registered user (free registration) to access the link. Click on the Get This Manual button and the registration/login will pop up. This may be a similar enough manual to help you use the A/C.

I hope this helps.

I have an amana self evaporating portable ac for my 500sf condo. I have had to unhook it and roll it outside 4 times to drain it. Lately water is now spilling out the back vent on to my floor. What's the...

It appears to me that because of the small size of your condo, you are just recirculating the humidity in the apartment. The unit is condensing the moisture in the air and then reheating it in the pan causing it to evaporate back into the air. The unit is working properly but the humidity level in your apartment continues to rise. You really need to add a drain from the pan of your portable air conditioner.
