I don't know how to trouble shoot the circuit boards in the machine. I grew up fixing appliances up to 1980.
Nothing looked bad by taking the cover panel of the unit and observing the circuit boards.

what color is the control board cover? is it brown, grey etc. please reply and i can guide u thru the step. most likely the fuse that is on the actual circuit board is blown. by the way after the lighting did your machine light up the display at all?
The board is brown and the 6.3 slow blow fuse is bad.
I plan on repacing the fuse with a 6.3 amp slow blow buss fuse and holder. Cheapest way for me to fix and can replace fuse in the future if it happens again.
To bad manufacturers don't put replaceable fuses in to begin with. Would save our land fills.
Will get back to you if it works out OK. Next weekend project if weather is bad.
The fuse was bad and replaced with a glass 6.3 amp 250 volt fuse spliced in the hot leg of the power cord. These people are disabled and low incume yet spend time cooking at a soup kitchen for others.
thank you luisa_sgro you were right on.
