I have an old Jenn-Air cook top with down draft, approx. 20 years old. Need model No. so can order replacement for cooking elements. I have serial no. of 39060759, but nothing will match online. Would No. 2100W fit this older model? Help!

Call Jenn-Aire to have a technician troubleshoot your cook top on site. You will save time and aggravation whether your cook top is gas or electric, possibly wired improperly, etc, etc, etc.
get a gas repairer to check for you or you go back to where u bought it and the burners will be replaced or sold to you if the cooktop is still under one year warranty
1) turn off power at the breaker.
2) remove hold down screws
3) pop up cooktop out of counter top
4) remove knobs and downdraft grille
5) remove ceramic top (screws around outside and also in side grille opening)
6) unplug burners replace with new burner
Use Cooktop Cleaner with a soft micro cloth. Don't use water. Buff until the mark disappears.
Hint: Never clean the cooktop until it is completely cool to touch as doing so makes cleaning much harder. Never use abrasives on the glass or abrasive cast iron skillets.
I just had the same problem- when I replaced the whole cartridge. I repalced the infinite switch- do the one that gets the hottest- or do both. It is easy to do- just write down the wiring diagram - make sure all power is off- cost of new switch was about $37.00 This solved the problem- however make sure to check the sizng on the new switch shaft as my old knob would not fit properly on the shaft of the new switch. good luck
