Kenmore SbS refrigerator, water dispenser not working

I have a Kenmore Elite Side by Side refrigerator, model # 106 52204100. This morning I found a puddle of water on my kitchen floor & the ice in the door melting. It is not producing ice & the water dispenser is not working. I just check a minute ago & it appears that the items at the top of the fridge are not remaining as cold as the items at the bottom of the fridge. Also, there seems to be a humming noise coming from the fridge, too. Any insight you have is greatly appreciated!

I do not feel a fan. I just pulled the fridge out again & took off the bottom panel. I will now admit my ignorance with the next statement. The big black cauldron looking thing down there is hot.

Lol ok the big black cauldron thing is your compressor there are two fans one near the compressor and one inside the freezer which ever one is not working replace and if its the one near the compressor unplug the machine till you do

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer Kenmore SbS refrigerator, water dispenser not work - 2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

After changing the water filter, the ice maker is not working. The water dispenser is working properly.

You may need to replace the dual water control valve due to only the water dispenser side of the water control valve being the only side that works. What is the model number of your Kenmore refrigerator? Kenmore model numbers look like this=> 321.235689 as an example. An example of the water control valve if your model number was 321.235689 is part number=> 12001414 Water Inlet Valve

Don't use this example as the correct part. Look around the fresh food section door frame for your correct model number, Thanks Sea Breeze

Kenmore coldspot water dispenser stopped working. Ice maker works. What could be possibly wrong?

On the rear of your refrigerator there is a dual water control valve. One side for ice maker and one side for water dispenser. I believe your side for the water dispenser has failed and they come as a set. Send the Kenmore model number and I will find you one. The number will look like this, 326.256489 for example only. No water coming from water dispenser.

It is possible the water control valve for that dispenser has failed and will not open. This happens a lot for those and the ice maker valves. All you need is the model number for your refrigerator and that will look like this for Kenmore. 213.564897 for example. and I will help you find the correct part number. Sea Breeze

Ice and water dispenser lock light stays on and comes back on quickly after pushing and holding. No water or ice dispensed while light on. Kenmore Elite 23.1 ft side by side refrigerator

I resolved the problem on my Kenmore Elite model 106.55616400 by removing the drip tray, taking out two screws that hold the panel, and disconnecting and reconnecting the wires from the panel to the board. Unplugging the refrigerator did not work.

New Kenmore Elite ice dispenser not working but water is

Should be no longer than 24hrs. Is the freezer good and cold.. has to reach a certain temp before icemaker activates. Might take little longer if you put a lot of warm things in freezer or refrig. when you made the change. Is there any water or ice in the icemaker itself? Water may not be getting to icemaker call them back out if it dont work soon thats what warrantys for :0)
