Sep 9, 2013 - Possible causes when washing machine stops mid cycle by a ... If thewashing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, ...
Keeping in mind that the soap & bleach gets dispensed into your wash on the
second to last rinse cycle and that most all rinse cycles are in cold
water. Is your cold water valve screen plugged causing your washer to
rinse poorly? Are you using the HE detergent? If not maybe the
washer is sudsing up to much and having a hard time rinsing all the
suds and bleach out and leaving the clothes soapy.
Fill the washer up with no clothes in it on a cold/cold wash setting
does it take a long time to fill the washer up? Also when it is full
and agitating is there suds in the washer?
Last suggestion is if the drain is hose is a lot higher than the top of
the washer it might have a hard time draining out all of the soap
water before the next load
Not unless it over heats & stops. Does it drain after you start it in drain after it sat for an hour? If so you need a motor. Maybe its just the drain hose has a kink. Also the lid switch. It should drain water before spinning if water drains and no spin maybe transmission & or clutch.
There is no problem, unless the drum doesn't spin at all. In a wash or rinse cycle there is a neutral drain just before the spin. During the neutral drain, the drum does not spin. If you open the lid or pause the timer during the neutral drain, the motor will stop (same as the short pause just before the actual spin) and the "kicker" in the transmission will disengage the brake. At this point the drum will start to spin. The neutral drain prevents wear and tear to the transmission since the drum will be very heavy while it's full of water and wet clothes. If it doesn't spin at all, you may have a problem with the motor coupling, the brake/clutch assembly or the transmission. Hope this helps to clarify things.
Has this Washer got a drain water filter ? if so check it first. also some washers have a 'delicates' program which leaves water in the drum to stop creasing, check you manual.
unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not. need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin. if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch. if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.
Possible timer or drain problems.. ok.. when your washer is in rise.. before it goes into final spin.. it stop agitating, then drain water for about a minute or two.. listen to see if stop drain for a sec, then began to spin... when it come to draining.. make sure that you hear all the water flow out of your washer.. sometimes when you have a slow drain.. that can do it too.. but the first possible is likely.. good luck
