I will tell you what.. Not to be annoying but I have found the parts way cheaper than you can ever imagine. The people who sells them are very professional and honest. Shipping from Ireland to the U.S. only took me 2 days! Definitely not 250.00 nor 400.00 like I've seen them before. It took me a whole year and a half to find the parts but i found them for an equivalent of 150.00 or so. I guess I would sell them for 250.00 as well, if I were trying to make money with you to be honest. Keep looking!
If your screen stays black with no sign of light even when it has been on for a half hour or so, suspect the Y sustain module as the cause. If you can see a faint but very dark picture after a half hour or so, suspect the Z sustain module. In either case the problem usually occurs after hearing a very loud pop. Looking from the back the Z board is the large board on the right connected to the ribbon cables from the plasma display. The Y board is the large board on the left with the big square heat sinks. The Y and Z boards are the most common cause for the symptom you described. The boards may cost about $250 ea. There is a white sticker on the board with the LG part number.
Good luck.

My TV has barely visible grainy black/white picture, sound is ok.
How to get parts for it, can I do it myself?
Yes, I have the same problem... I called a local tech.. he came to the house... took TV to his shop to check the problem and charged an initial $75 service call, which will be applied to the cost to fix. He claimed it could cost anywhere between $300 and $800. we are waiting to see what the total will be to repair....
What a business to be in.....
