Hi, just follow the instruction below...

1. Essentially, open the oven door and remove the plastic vent strip between oven and microwave (4 screws). There will be 2 screws under that which secure the microwave unit to the frame. Remove those...

2. Open the microwave door and remove the plastic vent shield at the top (3 screws). At that point, the microwave unit will slide out from the frame as describe above. The light is to the rear of the large silver pad (I removed mine to facilitate reaching the light). If you look at the parts diagrams online, it will be obvious what to look for. I have the light out and sure enough, OSRAM 64405S....
Took me maybe 5 minutes to remove...

Take care

How do I change light bulb in Kitchenaid Microwave KCMS1555RSS

Hi,

You will need to remove the cabinet to change the bulb, the part number is 4359741, now the bulb is part of the base so the part number is the correct part for this model. Good luck

How to change the torsion springs in my kitchenaid microwave oven KEMC308KSS01

Replacing the spring isn't very difficult if you're mechanically inclined.
You're basically removing a few screws, the front panel of the door is removed exposing only the glass part that's still hinged. The springs are exposed. Hopefully one spring is still in tack so you can see the orientation of how to put the replacement in. It's not very intuitive on how to do this part.

How do you change the bulb in a Kitchenaid microwave Model KBMC140HSS03

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

To replace the light bulb first remove the screws located on the vent grill at the top of the microwave, tilt the grill back and then pull away to remove. After this open the light cover , you have to remove the screws so that you can discard the old light bulb and then replace it with a new one. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Microwave light is burnt out

Accessing the internal light bulb on model KBMC140HSS bulb will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Whirlpool / Kitchenaid owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

These models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Need to replace light bulb in kitchen aid microwave

KitchenAid wants $58 for the replacement bulb. I bought it for $1.99 from www.lightbulbsdirect.com and it works just fine. The Item number is Q5G412V. It is a halogen 5-watt, 12-volt bipen G-4. Replacing the bulb requires some dismantling of the microwave. At first I was nervous about removing so many parts to get to the bulb but in the end it really wasn't so bad. The only tool I needed was a Phillips screwdriver. I surfed the net a eventually found instructions left by a friendly Blogger that guided me through the whole process. KitchenAid engineers were so STUPID when they designed this microwave. It takes two hours to replace a bulb that should take 5 minutes. Oddly enough, replacing the bulb in the normal oven below the microwave oven is a piece of cake.
