Installing different burning software should not really affect reading capabilities of the burner. Nevertheless, it is not recommended to have two burning software packages on the same computer.
You can try uninstalling the new software that was installed on your computer, the reboot the system and check if that worked. If Windows does not open the disc automatically, you can go to My Computer and access the disc by double clicking on the TDK drive.
If you continue to have the same problems, please make sure the DVD burner is connected properly to the computer.
All you guys looking for AUDIO burner CDs' should try the MEMOREX CD-R MUSIC CDs. These are a new product, released to REPLACE the TDK XA80 AUDIO CDs.
Stocks are a bit low right now - but only because this is a new product - and people like me are buying up big.
'Tanya' at JB Hi Fi in Erina Fair on the NSW Central Coast, has promised me that she will be ordering plenty of these discs because she is aware of our dilema. Apparently Head Office of JB HiFi has also advised their numerous stores of this MEMOREX product and they should all be having them in stock shortly.
Product description:
Red cardboard box with 10 blank CDs in slim jewel cases. Marked "Memorex Music CD-R" 700MB (80min) Mine cost me $8.95c for this pack of ten.
These work fine on my stand alone, Hi-Fi LG dual tray burner and also on a mates' Pioneer CD burner. Good luck and thank God for Memorex!
try 3 things. ONE AT A TIME. #1 change your burn speed to a slower setting some dvd's will not burn as fast as they say on box.
#2.update firm ware for burner go to manufacturer's web site for your brand of dvds being used.
#3 change brand of DVD used. there are 3 major manufactures for almost all dvds and cd. The people who make disc for Sony and the other 2 companies that make everybody elses. (ie TDK,Memorex, etc....)
I will try cleaning & check the firmware from TDK, thanks for your help. I've restarted & that hasnt helped.
