If the jar is the one-piece polycarbonate (plastic) jar then you will need to replace (or have KitchenAid replace if it is under Warranty) the whole jar. If it is a glass jar then only the collar with integrated blades will need replacing.
You don't need to replace the entire jar assembly. Have you tried to contact Kitchensid. They make high quality appliances and will probably send you new blades for $0.
Older KitchenAid blenders had a jar that was
made so the blade assembly could be removed for cleaning. On the newer models
the blender jar and the blade assembly are all one unit so you have to purchase
a new jar to get the blade assembly. All of this is dependent on which
model of blender you have.
