I Have a 1997 Royal star. that I have pulled off all four carbs and then pulled apart and cleaned all the jets. I flushed out all the old fuel and the fuel pump works great. I put the carbs back on the bike. I took fuel tank off and put fuel line in a container of fuel.idled perfectly. and i reved it up to 2500 RPMs thenit acts like its running out of gas. then I let go of the throttleand it idles down and runs perfect again. Any ideas of how I can fix this?

Sounds like the float level height is set a little low. you might have accidently readjusted the setting. just raise the float level height a little bit and you should be okay.

How to remove carburetor from yamaha royal star venture

Well.... first - there's four of them.

You can try YouTube or invest in a Service manual to get it all done correctly... Its starts with getting the tank off, and that starts with removing the riders seat.

Although you are NOT talking about jetting the carbs and this only only two this site has AWESOME details and the Venture is not terribly different.

Old bike (97) less than 10000 miles. I push the starter and it lights right up and will Idle forever very smoothly give it some gass and it peters out and then stalls. Checked fuel filter fuel line ect. no...

I think you may have blocked main jets(assuming Carbs). If your bike has been sitting for a long time this will probably be the case and they will need to be stripped and cleaned. I did have one case though where wasps had built a nest in the exhaust pipes and that is a most unlikely scenario but only takes a few seconds to have a look. Hope that helps.

Backfires, idles ok but no power, carbs need cleaning. need to know how to clean jets in carbs?

The best way is to have them boiled or ultrasonic cleaned...If you can't do that, soak them in solvent overnight and use some spray carb cleaner and compressed air to clean out all the passages. I have found that a small steel guitar string works best, for the jets.
Good luck, i hope this helps.

Lost of power on throttle increase and motor dies when coming off throttle on 96 carbed yamaha royal star deluxe. No idle without choke. Only runs on choke on. Used gas carb cleaner and high octane fuel...

I would say you have a blocked or damaged jet. I would strip down the carburettor and replace any badly worn jets and clean thoroughly. When refitting the tick over mixture screw , screw it home and back out about 2 1/2 turns. That will be somewhere near it.
Hope that helps.

2003 V Star 650. Had fule pumping out of air cleaner box

you shouldnt have to resync the carbs as long as you dont touch the mixture screws or the screws for the throttle blades. you wont have to pull the jets completly out to clean them just spray the heck out of all the orifaces with carb cleaner once you have them pulled apart. Also whe you put it back together make shure the carb seal to the engine and airbox are tight with no leaks, this will make it run bad also
