I have a Peg Perego John Deere Turf Tractor 12v the tractor works fine in 1st and reverse but after going to second after one revolution seems to stop. I have taken the thing apart and the right motor looking from the rear is hot? can you advise what the problem could be. I will also need to get new tyres any ideas where?

SOURCE: We just replaced the battery and it worked fine

Use a meter to confirm whether the battery is still working. The meter should read around 12-13 VDC if the battery is good. The 12 Volt Peg Perego battery is made with 2 6 volt batteries connected in series. Maybe the connection broke when the battery fell out. Check the connection and also check with a meter if either battery is pumping out 6 volts.
