Where is the pump located and what is the easiest way to get to it

There is a front access panel below your door that is held in place by 2 screws at the very bottom edge near the floor. Remove the screws and access panel. The drain pump on that model I think is at right front corner. To remove or clean it---unplug washer---unplug 2 wires to pump---remove/loosen 2 big hose clamps and pull rubber hoses off---and then remove 2 mounting screws holding pump to washer floor. Reverse procedure to reinstall.

How do I access the drain pump on a Whirlpool Duet washing machine model WFW94HEXW2?

Hi Marc,
Unfortunately, access to the pump & filter is harder on the HEXW2 model than the Duets with the removable lower panel.
First you have to remove the lid panel (screws in top rear), then pull slightly rearward and up/out.
Next you'll have to remove the control panel, then remove the front drum boot from the front panel lip. A large diameter thin wire spring holds it in place, located just under the rubber lip edge. Begin the spring removal from a wire tab located toward the lower portion of the lip.

Then remove the door latch screws (IIRC), and the screws at the bottom edge and top of the front panel. The entire front panel must be removed to access the drain filter.

A "nd" code displayed,

How to fix a Samsung Washer nd washer error code. You can make this repair your self and in most cases without parts.
Let me explain what the nd on a Samsung washer control panel means exactly. The nd error code stands for No Drain.
When this washer error code comes up the washer will not spin either.

To fix this issue you will need to slide the unit forward to access the pump if there is no access panel on the lower front.
If the clean out access panel is on the lower front bail the water from the washer and twist the filter head counter-clockwise.
If the front panel does not have the access panel the washer will need to be slide forward.
With the washer pulled out the back access panel can be removed. With the panel removed, the drain pump will be visible.
Remove the two hoses on the pump followed by the two 7/16 bolts that mount the pump down. With the pump off, you can now remove the debris inside.

Put the washer back together and test for proper operation.
If the error code comes back this means that the pump is clogged again or the pump has failed and would need to be replaced

Samsung washer keeps reading ND. Have manually drained the washer, cleaned all the hoses out. Found a coin, removed it, washed a blanket and the washer worked fine. However when doing another load, again...

The nd error code stands for No Drain.

Try following the steps here:
http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view_us.jsp?SITE_ID=1&PG_ID=4&PROD_SUB_ID=864&PROD_ID=866&AT_ID=149972

You will need to slide the unit forward to access the pump if there is no access panel on the lower front.
If the error code comes back this means that the pump is clogged again or the pump has failed and would need to be replaced.

I hope this information helps you. A 4-thumbs up rating is greatly appreciated. :)

The water wont drain and the is a clicking noise coming out of the water pump motor

Something may be stuck in the pump impeller causing it to make a clicking or rattling noise. Disconnect power then remove the lower front access panel to access the pump filter and the pump impeller.

Remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

Drain the water into a bucket or shallow pan and lay a piece of towel under the pump filter prior to the removal of the filter. Turn the filter knob counterclockwise to remove and clean it. Reach in the pump to check if it is restricted or detached from the pump motor spline. Replace the pump assembly if the impeller is broken or detached.

We need to replace the drain hose in our Kenmore Elite HE3t washing machine. How do I get access into the machine to replace the hose? Is it from the top or the back?

To replace the drain hose, follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the washer and turn it around so you can access the rear panel.

2. Use a wet/dry shop vac and pull a vacuum on the drain hose. This will remove any existing residual water that remains in the drain line and pump minimizing any mess you may have to clean up later. NOTE: There is about a gallon of residual water that normally remains between the lower wash basket, drain lines and pump.

3. Remove the rear panel by loosening the screws around the perimeter of the back panel. With the screws removed, the panel should lift off. NOTE: There is a smaller access in the center of the back panel that can also be removed. Removing the entire back allows for better access though. Trying to work through the center access can be a cut hazard due to the sharp edges on the metal.

4. Move around the the front of the washer and remove the lower toe panel under the door. You may have to prop up the two front feet of the washer to access the screws under the bottom front edge. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then lift off.

Additionally removing the front toe panel will give you full access to the drain pump from the FRONT and the REAR. The pump sits closer to the front of the washer where you can easily access the hose clamps. The drain hose inserts from the rear, however.

Since you have the washer apart, now would be a good time to check the drain pump clean out trap to ensure there is no debris build up that can restrict drainage. The following link explains the recommended procedures to check the drain pump:

If you have any questions about any of this advice, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

We washed a small rug and we got an E-20 code. what should we do, its having problems draining!

Drain pump screen is clogged. If its makeing a bad grinding sound the pump will need to be replaced. Otherwise disasembly of the machine is required to access pump area to clean out screen. Dextrous people can probaly do this from the back or underneath unit. Its difficult and I don't recomend it to beginers or people who arn't handy. Easiest/prefered method: (This is the one I use.)

Method A units that have a bottom access panel. ie: front panel not one seamless peice.

-unplug unit
-lean back against wall for easy access.
-remove two #2 square screws form access panel.
-Loosen clamp holding hose to tub. (Big black one around 2" in diameter.)
-remove and clean screen.
-reassemble machine and test pump operation.

Method B units the have seamless front panel.

-unplug unit
-remove top. 3 screws @ back, slide top away from machine to remove.
-remove 2 screws holding console onto chasis.
-remove disp
-remove 3 screws @ and behind disp area.
-Remove console. ( tab may be holding to front panel @ middle bottom use putty knife to pry up.)
-remove 4 screws holding front pannel @ top to chasis.
-remove 2 screws holding frong pannel to chasis inside machine. Acess from top. (some models only.)
-remove bottom screws either 4 or 2 usally 4.
-remove two screws holding door lock to front panel
-remove spring from around bellow.
-remove bellow from front pannel
-remove front pannel. Tilts forward and lifts up off supports. (some models only.) or pannel ifs up and off from white tabs in side of chasis.
-unhook wires to door lock from front pannel. (plastic molex tab)
-may now access pump like in method A.

Pump Replacement
-access pump area
-remove drain hose to pump by looseing clamp and pulling off.
-remove hose to tub by losseing clamp and pulling off.
-remove power connection at back left of pump.
-unscrew two philips screws holding pump too base plate. (only one is really required.)
-replace pump
-clean pump screen or add one if not present.
-reconnect hoses.
-replug in power
-reassemble machine
-test pump operation
