Pioneer VSX-01 TXH receiver turns off

I have the Pioneer VSX-01 TXH receiver with Polk audio RM6750 compact 5.1 speakers. When I turn the volume up the receiver shuts everything off. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the speaker circuit is overloading or the receiver is overheating.

Check to make sure all speakers are in phase. Pos to Pos. Neg to Neg.

Make sure receiver has plenty of cooling room.

Hope this helps.

When my sub is off it hums how can i fix this

Teach it the words ;-)

"OFF"? Turned off, no power?

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Disconnect the input(s) and see if it hums in the absence of an audio source. A bad audio cable shield or unwisely-routed audio cables will allow entrance of unwanted signals from external power sources, magnetic fields, even dimmer-controlled track lights. Sometimes, simply reversing the orientation of the ac power plug can eliminate humming.

Receiver shuts off as volume is turned up beyond

try connecting only 1 speaker at a time. try it on each of the binding posts (connection terminals), crank it up to locate which one of the speaker terminals is overloading the amplifier.

Then connect a different speaker to that terminal to see if it still overloads. This should determine if its the speaker that is overloading that particular terminal or if something is wrong with the amplifier.

Just for fun make sure that the cables you are using don't have any fraying and that none of the speaker binding posts have any loose strands of wire possibly grounding out to the chassis of the receiver.

Overload Problem

If your rec'vr worked with the original front and rear speakers, the new speakers are either defective or ar the wrong impedance.
Also, I find this confusing: "I connected the wiring for 1 of the front speakers to the connection on the rear of the receiver". This may indicate wrong wiring connection. Make sure you have connected the speakers properly
