Check the loose end of the line--does it look rotted, or does it have a clean cut end? If rotted, and there is a plastic stub in the tank, replace the line--remove the remaining piece of line from the stub. Use extra-long 'hemostat' clamps (available from Harbor Freight tools) to work the tube onto the stub. If the old tube appears to go straight through the tank wall, then you will have to remove the outer case to replace the entire line to the pump.

Best way to replace chain oiler line on a 036 stihl saw

To replace the chain oiler line on a Stihl 036 chainsaw, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the chainsaw from starting accidentally.
  2. Drain the old chain oil from the oil tank.
  3. Remove the old chain oiler line from the chainsaw.
  4. Clean any debris or blockages from the oiler hole.
  5. Cut a length of new chain oiler line to the appropriate size. The line should be long enough to reach from the oil tank to the oiler hole on the bar.
  6. Attach one end of the new chain oiler line to the oil tank and the other end to the oiler hole on the bar.
  7. Secure the line in place with the appropriate fittings and clamp.
  8. Fill the oil tank with the recommended type and amount of chain oil.
  9. Reconnect the spark plug wire and test the chain oiler to ensure it is functioning properly.
It is important to use the correct type and amount of chain oil to ensure the chainsaw operates properly and to extend the life of the chain and bar. If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, it is recommended to have a professional chainsaw repair technician handle the repairs for you.

How much oil should I put in the oiler for the chain?

Fill the tank. I usually fill the bar oiler every time I fuel up my saw. Could likely get two or three tanks of fuel to one tank of bar oil, but I don't like the idea of forgetting and running out and burning up my chain.

What kind of oil do I put into my toro expand it chainsaw?

CHAIN OILER See Figure 18. ? Use Premium Bar and Chain Lubricant. It is designed for chains and chain oilers and is formulated to perform over a wide temperature range with no dilution required. ? Husqvarna 141 will not oil and when i had it serviced they replaced the oiler and it did not solve the problem.

Remove the chain and bar assembly. Start engine--should pump oil from oiler port where the bar fits on the engine side. If oil comes out, then possibly the bar-oiling passage in the bar itself is plugged with dirt or sawdust--blow clean with compressed air. If no oil comes out from the port, check the pickup tube inside the oil tank. Drain the oil into something and fish the pickup tube end out with a hooked wire. Replace if collapsed, cracked, or loose.

Chainsaw oiler leaks oil out case and no oil on chain

Take the bar and chain off--run the engine--the oiler port from the case should discharge some oil. If none, you have trouble with the oil pump or the tubes to and from it. The oil tank may be leaking at the tank opening for the pickup tube. If oil appears at the oiler port, then there may be dirt/blockage within the oil passages in the bar end. Clean with compressed air.

Chain oiler inop

this is a common problem and requires replacement of the pump. remove the bar and chain, the pump comes loose with a few screws. under it you'll see the filter which could be clogged, but not usually as contaminants are not likely to enter the tank. Small engine shops can order the new pump for you, hope this helps
