Channel buttons change input

When i push the up or down channel buttons, the input is changed instead. I can still change the input through the menu route, and I can still change the channel by typing in the channel number and pressing enter (eg. number 3 enter goes to 3). Also, the up and down channel buttons change the input whether using those on the tv itself or those on the remote. I tried using reset as well, to no avail... please help. Thanks in advance

Auto channel search is your friend. Once the tv has been through it and finds active channels, your channel button should work the way you envision.

I am not familiar with the Time Warner remote, but Tivo remotes require pressing "tv power" and the "Tivo" button at the same time to program them.
Maybe you are pressing one a little ahead of the other.

Cant use menu

You may need a different remote. Is this a universal remote? Some of them have these common problems. Mine, for instance, doesn't use the OK button at all; instead, the Menu button counts as the OK button.

Try navigating the menu with the TV's volume / channel buttons (the ones on the TV itself, not on the remote). This usually works. Try that until you get a different remote.

My toshiba remote (se-r0305) changes tv input when I push the channel up/down button instead of changing the channel? It came with my toshiba 22lv50k tv, and all other buttons are functioning properly.

The remote control need cleaning. Just enter this site named [Electro-Help]. It has all details about how to clean and repair a remote control. Google for it.

I hit the channel button instead of the volume button by accident and now my screen is fuzzy and I can't get my cable to come back on.

you need to change the tv back to the input your cable box is connected to. Look for a input button on your remote and keep pushing it until it gets to the right input(your cable will come back on). if that doesn't work go into your televisions menu and look for inputs on the menu and go through them till you find the right one. if you have any questions leave a comment on this thread and i will help you out.

I have lost my remote and the kids pushed the side buttons on the TV to raise the volume but instead changed the channel. Now I can't get back to the channel that works with my AT&T uverse box.

Hi,

Instead of changing the channels, press the "INPUT" button on the side of the TV slowly and repeatedly. The TV will cycle through all of the available external inputs one of which will be for your Uverse box. If this doesn't work, try switching to channel 3 or 4. I can't say which will be correct as it depends how the equipment is setup.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

Comcast Remote requires 3 digits be entered to change channels

l. Push the "Menu button"
2. Push the "Menu button" again
3. Scroll to "Setup" and push "OK"
4. Scroll to "Guide setup" and push "OK"
5. Scroll to"No Auto Tune"
6. Click on arrow next to "No Auto Tune". This will change it to "Auto Tune".
7. Now exit, or just punch in any channel number.

You should now be able to go directly to a channel without entering zeros.
