Poor cooling on frezer and almost no cooling on refrigirator

GE - TFX22KHE - side by side refrigerator/freezer

Poor cooling on the freezer side. it is cool like the refrigerator, and almost no cooling at all on the refrigerator side.

The fan is working, I have vacuumed the condenser coils off of dust but no improvement.

Water running in refrigerator means u have a drain problem remove the fan section you should see a drain in the bottom use pressurize air to clear the drain. Refrigerator not cooling, check if evaporator coil is a block of ice if it do u have a defrost problem, turn timer clockwise to manually put in defrost, if the unit goes in to defrost change the timer if not check your heater for resistance if no resistance is present change the heater if resistance is present let your defrost thermostat remain in the ice coil and check for resistance, if no resistance is present change the defrost thermostat, to check compressor section make sure thermostat is close and the unit is not in to defrost, make sure condenser is clean, condenser and compressor fan should run at the same time if only compressor runs check voltage to your fan if voltage is present change the fan, if only the fan runs check starting components, if breaker trip check for ground winding, if compressor is running, condenser fan is running, evaporator fan is running and your coil is partially frost you should installed your gauge, it could be that the system is low on charge are a restriction are a no good compressor, [email protected] Lincoln tech former student

What is the ideal temp setting in GE side by side refrigirator. I have Freezer (0-9) Refrigirator (0-9) There was ice on the Freezer wall and the service guy replaced the defrost thermostat recently

If replacing the defrost thermostat fixed the icing problem that doesn't indicate your settings are wrong. But the desired temp in the freezer is from 0 to 10 degrees and in the fridge around 35 degrees. The actual number on your dial depends on the personal use. Use a thermometer to check it and allow 24 hours after changing it to check it.

GE GSS25LGMA refrigirator/freezer refrigirator side is freezing

There is an electrically activated air dampener in the upper left back side of the refrigerator section which most likely has broken (in the open position), allowing cold air from the freezer to continue to enter the fresh foods section. Replace the dampener assembly.

The frezer not cool enoug

you may not have enough air circulation at the rear of the machine when you moved it. if the machine can not loose heat through the radiator at the back it looses its cooling capacity. move it back to where it was?

Frezer temp is 20 deg. fridge temp is 47 deg.

Remove the freezer shelves and bins. Remove the freezer back panel to access the fan motor.
