There are usually 3 or 4 locking tabs on the cover that just need to be pressed INDIVIDUALLY toward the bulb to release them and then carefully remove the cover. The ones with 3 tabs usually have and upper and lower tab then the thrid tab is on the side. Removed the upper and lower tabs by pressing inward to the bulb and then the cover will pivot out on the 3rd SIDE tab.

Thanks for using FixYa.

There are 2 plastic extrusions that clip in place. Pull sharply forward, or lever the sides gently up and down with a flat screwdriver above the bits that clip in. The bulb unscrews.

Silhouette manual

I am guessing you want to replace the bulb! Remove plastic cover which can be held in place by philips head screw or screws. The plastic cover can have side clips that need to be squeezed in gently to allow them to release from a slot in the fridge. Once the cover is removed, the bulb should be a screw type. Remove and then buy a replacement - the edison screw size and wattage are the most important thing to fit. Bulb shape to suit size behind the cover. Buy at WW or Coles otherwise spare parts on possibly ebay if you can be precise on model etc.

How to change bulb in fridge

To change a light bulb in the refrigerator, remove the plastic cover that covers the light bulb. This cover should just pop off by simply squeezing the cover gently. Look at the bulb to see how many watts it is and the type of bulb, you can buy a new bulb at any home improvement center. Insert the new light bulb and replace the cover. If the light on the refrigerator is not working after changing the bulb, unplug the refrigerator. Using a screwdriver, gently pop out the push-button collar on the inside side wall of the refrigerator. There will be two wires connected to the push button switch. Remove the two wires and replace the switch. You can purchase this part at any appliance repair center that carries parts. Make sure you write down the model and make of your refrigerator and take the information with you before attempting to purchase parts.

Light remains on when fridge door closed. door switch does not turn lights off? light was hot enough to melt plastic cover

You can take the door switch out and replace it with a new one. You may also need to get an appliance light bulb that's not so hot.

LG Design defect - Light stayed on and melted the fridge.

yes, contact LG for this known problem. it's a circuit board defect. the tech should replace both bulbs w/lower wattage, plastic bulb lens, lens surround and bulb sockets themselves. be sure to have your fridge model # and serial # handy.
