Hi, My Kipor 6700TA wont start. Battery died or fuel issue?

Hi, My Kipor 6700TA has just acted wiered again:). I had replaced the battery about 2 weeks back with 45 amp battery. After two weeks i noticed it took the generator a good 2 seconds from ignition to powerup when i turn the key. (it used to be almost instant startup earlier). This worsened until it wont start for uptil 4-5 seconds. Now the generator makes a strange noise when i turn the key and also does not start. What could be the issue. I think its battery has gone dead again. Someone suggested it might not be getting enough diesel into the system for ignition.

It sounds like your unit may not be charging the battery properly.

Try charging the battery and see if it responds properly. If it does, then check the charging circuit. This OFTEN involves a rectifier module which is usually about 1 inch square with four leads. OFTEN there is a fuse, sometimes within the generator housing (stupid place) which protects the low voltage winding.

Here is a hint: Most of these engines have a compression release on the top that one can press then crank up to speed and release. This takes much less effort on the battery. Some have a panel held by bolts. I put hinges on mine for easy access.

REMEMBER the battery is being drained WHILE the unit is running to hold the fuel solenoid open... so if charging isn't working the battery will die.

Test: You should see about 13.75 to 14 volts across the battery when properly being charged while running.

Cranks but wont start

Whenever your car won't start, it is either fuel, spark, or air. In your case, because it died while driving and won't run very long, I think it's spark. I would guess that your alternator is no longer providing enough voltage to charge the battery, hence your battery acting like it's dead, and your car not wanting to run long when you do get it started. Use a multimeter to check the voltage coming from the alternator when the car is running. It should be 14.5V or so. If it is down around or lower than 13, replace the alternator.

Kipor 6700ta po5 code problems , diesel silent generator

1. Check the voltage of battery whether is 12V or 24V; 2. The voltage of battery is low when the generator is still, then it is necessary to dismantle the battery and charge the battery with charger.
3. If the voltage of battery is low but the generator is running, it indicates that the diesel engine driven charger doesn't work; then it is necessary to stop the engine to check the fan belt.
4. if the fan belt is not loose, please check the charging AC diesel engine driven charger, please refer to Manual for Diesel Engine.
5. If the battery can not store the electricity, please replace the battery for a new one. https://www.dieselgeneratortech.com/generator-sets/discovery-and-elimination-of-faults-of-the-control-system.html

Kipor 6700TA displaying charge fault (P5)

Check for loose or rusty battery cables. Unscrew the rear cover and locate the red battery wire. Disconnect it and, using a multi meter, check its resistance: it should have a very low value. Do the same with the other wire.
Start the generator and remove battery wires. If the voltage between them is zero then a fuse is blown.
Next open the front panel (where the display is), there you will find two blue wires with covered fuses, check and replace those fuses if found faulty.
If the problem is still there then it could be the charge regulator. Open the back cover by removing the six nuts. Near the edge you will find a component with silver cover resembling plates. There are three wires leading from it. Check resistance between these wires (one by one) and its body: it should be infinite, if not then replace it. remove the charge regulator and take it to a generator spare shop. The person there will further inspect it and will tell you if you need to replace it or repair it.
Hope this solves your problem.

KIPOR KDE 6700TA 5KVA Generator

forget about the display read the manual and find out how many volts are needed to charge the battery....then
get a voltometer and disconnect the terminals from the battery and connect them to the voltometer while the generator is running...
find out what the reading is...if the reading is zero (0)...then post a problem on (no out put)...
if not.....then there has to be a mistake...
if it reads a voltage thats too low..then you AVR card is burnt out (AVR card is located in the other end of the generator (beyond the stator-side cover)...
