The playing surface of an electronic dartboard is covered in
thousands of tiny holes. Once the dart
connects with one of these holes, the score is automatically recorded.
if you see blue pixel type groups of squares or dots you may have a burnt light engine and this is common in many LCD rear projection sets; a blue screen may mean the engine became burnt--LCD rear projection sets of this kind have an optical enginge--with red, green, blue prizims--sometimes they get burned by the lamp---a photo would tell me or most techs what the problem is---the cost of a replacement engine is very expensive--some models with this problem are covered by Sony even if the set is no longer in warrant
Sorry to say this sounds like a stuck open shutter mechanism. Put the camera in any mode other than auto and make certain that you turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself in the following step). Next look down the center of the lens barrel and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker (wonder where that website got that name?) in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen then it's likely stuck.
Some people have had success in unsticking Canon S2 IS shutters with the following procedures. It may or may not work for you:
I have an upconverting 1080p extended detail DVD player.
I just started showing squares on the screen as the previews and movie plays but shows FBI warning etc OK.Is the player ready for the "heep"? I just had it cleaned.
I had this a couple of years ago. I assumed that it was the color wheel going out. I am handy with these things so I removed the color wheel and cleaned it very carefully.(it is glass) and then gave one tiny drop of oil in the bearings. Seemed to work for me. Not a job for someone not comfortable with electronics. There are replacement wheels on the internet and are not that hard to replace. Remove the rear lower cover and unscrew 2 screws and 1 connector. Hope this helps
