I had the exact same problem. The problem is that your fabric softener dispenser is clogged up with a lot of dried, sticky fabric softener. The flooding comes from the part of the cycle when water that is to be flushed through the fabric softener dispenser can't drain properly so it spills into the bleach dispenser and onto the top and into the lid gasket as well.

To remove the dispenser for cleaning, you need to open the top of the washer. (First pull it away from the wall.) Carefully pry off the little emblem in the front center of the washer lid. Then remove the screw. Then slide the top forward to you about a 1/2 inch and prop it up carefully.

You then need to remove both hoses that are attached to the bleach and fabric softener dispenser (part of the same unit). Then unsnap the combined unit from the washer top. Then clean all the gunk out by running it under scalding hot water in the laundry tub and swirling the gunk out. Don't attampt to remove the blue round fabric dispenser part from the unit.

Put it all back together and you're good until you clog it up again with too much fabric softener; maybe several years again.

Good luck.

Hello I have a Maytag Washer Model A512 The machine goes through a regular cycle OK - However, it DOES drains the water out during the rinse cycle, but does NOT drain the water out during the spin...

The timer will always advance to the next program if the machine does not fully drain. There is ALWAYS a spin when draining the water out, there is only one pump and one motor. The waterlogged laundry maybe telling the timer that there is still water in the tub. Put the machine on "Spin" and cheat the lid switch into thinking that the lid is closed. Use a clothes peg or wide ended screwdriver and see if there really is a spin....

Wsm2480dww laundry center(combo)

The washer drains the water durring the neutral drain. (water drains out but the basket does not spin). Then the timer will hit a "pause" (basically removes the power momentraily so the gear case can change gears). So if you are not getting the pause durring the cycle, lifting the lid does the exact same thing. I would agree with you from your last comments that you do have a timer issue. They can be ordered on line from the manufacture or more readily a local appliance parts store.

Fixn my GE washer spin cycle

It sounds like it could be the lid switch, check to make sure the lid switch is clicking when you close the lid.

Bleach is spilling directly on to clothes

I have the same problem and here is the reason and the solution. When you add bleach it sits in the dispenser until the rinse cycle. During the rinse cycle the machine pours a lot of water through the dispenser. The bleach is diluted and washed out with all this water into the tumbler and you clothes are rinsed with bleach. Sometimes when this rinse happens, the water does not completely drain from the bleach dispense. It sits in there. If this happens, the next time you add bleach, there is too much liquid in the dispenser and it leaks out onto your clothes.
Solution: Before you add bleach, take the whole dispenser out and see if there is a lot of water still standing in the bleach dispenser section. If there is a lot of water, spill it out into a sink. Then fill the dispenser with your bleach and it will all work out the way it should. I was having your same problem until I discovered this. I have never had the problem since.
