The ice maker would fill slowly even if you only have a "dribble".
It sounds as if your filter light may in error and the filter may need to be replaced. Unless the one your refrigerator uses is very expensive I would replace the filter before calling a technician. If that does not solve the problem, try googling for an answer to your question. Others may have had a similar experience and know the
cause and how to correct it.
It is possible that your water filters are getting plugged. Have you changed any filters lately? The meat pan lever may also be turned to the coldest position and on units that have a low water usage, this will also cause the tank to freeze. You will want to lower the meat drawer setting or use more water from the door. This does not apply to Top Mount water dispenser models, because they do not have a reservoir. Problem requiring service, glass fill time.

Dispenser drips water constantly will be a water valve problem, and should be checked by a service technician. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 or schedule a service appointment on-line.
Dribble as defined as a small amount of water (few drops) that may miss the glass ONLY AFTER USAGE. This is due to a delay in the overall system.
Dribble can be minimized by the following actions:
- Purge the tank, by holding down the dispenser for 2 to 3 minutes, to remove any trapped air that may be building pressure and causing the dribble. - A few drops is normal, but you can also prevent water from missing the glass and dripping down the cradle area by moving glass slower when removing it from the cradle. - You may need to periodically empty the recess grill and clean out underneath it to prevent overfilling and water dripping down the front of the refrigerator.
Also, remember the dispenser in the door will not operate unless the door is closed
ck the walve that was installe on cold water it is gone bad and needs replace ment . do use one that you drill pipe 1/4 in and it alow the water to flow . the small pin pircing type will corrode over and slow the wate or stop the water .. mm
hi, this can be because of the filter. when the water is flowing threw the filter, it is sent threw many channels inside the filter before it reaches the dispenser. this slows it down a bit. this is quite normal but, if it's slowed down to a dribble, i suspect a water valve malfunction or you may need to change the filter.
dadcanfix. There are two possibilities here. One could be the water valve itself, clogged or not seating or opening properly. The second would be the water tank on the refrigerator side, partially frozen. I believe they have a kit now with coiled tubing that replaces that tank because of the trouble they had with it. Remove the refer drawers and take a hair dryer and go over the tank lightly. See if that improves the water flow. Catriver..post back.
