Hello.
I have an old GE dishwasher (GSD750) and the soap dispenser will no longer open. I already tried rotating the cycle dyel to the OFF position to try to pry open the dispenser, but this did not work. I checked with GE Customer Service and they said I would have to call for service. Is there anything I can do myself?
Thanks,
Scotty
Hello- These dispensers are mechanically linked to the timer and can get jammed or fail over time. If you feel confident of your skills, you might try turning off power and taking door panel off to check these linkages. With luck it will just need to be freed up to operate. If not, parts are still available. Just a spring and a couple of plastic levers involved. Let me know if this info is helpful. Have more if needed.. Please acknowledge this post. Thanks- Ed
Hello Eric, thank you for your post!
I understand that the dispenser on your Frigidaire dishwasher opens but the soap is not dispensing into your dishwasher. How old is your dishwasher soap? If it is around a year old you may need to discard it and use a new soap. Also check to make sure when you stack dishes that they are not obstructing the arms from reaching the dispenser. Make sure your spray arms are clear of any debris that could block the distribution of water inside of your dishwasher. You may need to connect with a professional technician for proper repairs if these steps do not correct your issues. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt
