There is a thing called 'resting' heart rate..... Make sure you are rested 15 minutes before and between each testing.... ALSO make SURE that your arm is at heart level, this is the biggest mistake made, yes, even by nurses. You know when you go in and they use a knee to prop it up, that is just getting it as close to the heart as possible. NOW, lets address the 201/86, WOW!!! that is heartattack mode....... The 201 is your Systolic and the 86 the Diastolic, which is not bad, but that 201, OY VEY(yes I am Jewish)... PLEASE watch it, that is a huge concern to this nurse. Always check your BP using the SAME machine unless your numbers are WAY out of whack, then call the dr, you may have a serious issue..... please let me know if you need any more help, glad to assist!!! Guy, RN

Im using ABPM-05 of Meditech to monitor BP. But it is not giving reading since midnight. It was showing BP every 10 minutes?

They typically run for 24 hours for a session. Then stop so the information can be downloaded to a computer. See this manual, especially page 9.

My bp is 156/68 i am 59 yrs of age and wt 64 kgs and ht 5ft 5 inches

Your upper (systolic) blood pressure reading is high. To find out more you should see a doctor, who may order tests.

Be aware that a single BP reading does not say much at all, as BP does vary widely during the day.

What is dangerush bp reading

You need to get another DR. If you are on 4 meds and still having issues there is something your DR is not doing. Also Fish oil is great for lowering BP. Good luck. If your BP stays in such a High reading maybe head to the ER.Its nothing to play with.

Blood pressure reading is 165 over 67 what is the symptoms ?

Blood pressure problems are generally without obvious symptoms. BP does vary a lot so you should ask a doctor if there is any worry, and if you should buy a home use BP meter.

I have one and it has been very informative. I asked the doc to check it for accuracy by reading on me while he took his own reading.

Is a diastolic reading of 78 high or low?

Normal BP range is 120/80, although there are many factors to that must be considered. A diastolic of 78 would be within the normal range, Recommend consulting with your health care professional if you have concerns about your BP, and follow the treatment plan developed for you.

I doubt in correctness of reading,my age 58

If you are doubting the Blood Pressure and Pulse readings, there must be a reason for these doubts. But, you failed to explain why you doubted it. Does the BP reading seem unusually high or low? Is the pulse rate, what you expected it to be? Keep in mind, age doesn't always play a huge role in hypertension. It's your general overall health, eating habits, smoking, drinking, etc. In other words, you overall life style, as well as your family's medical history.

These wrist monitors are fairly accurate if applied to the wrist correctly, you keep your wrist at heart level and you don't move during the time that monitor is operating.

If you have doubts, take the monitor with you to your next doctor's appointment. They will probably check your BP with an arm cuff. After they do that, use your wrist monitor correctly and compare it to what the reading was with the doctor's reading. One or two points difference is not a big deal. More than that is.

Hope this helps.

Readings are too high compared to doctor's readings

There are several reasons for 'too high' readings; the cuff is too small for your arm, the muscles of the arm are not relaxed (squeezes on the blood vessels along with the cuff), arm not elevated to about mid chest level, BP tkaen before 5 minute sit/rest.
You can take your cuff into the doctors office to have it checked by the nurse and compared to theirs, rest 5 minutes ther as well befor taking BP. Their cuff could be too big for you and so would give a false low reading.
If the calibration is off, you will have to return it to the manufacturer - check their web site or call the customer support line.
Congratulations on taking an active role in your health care!
