I have an Amana 25 cf bottom freezer fridge. The handle on the freezer is loose. How do I get the handle off so I can tighten the clips on the door?

That handle is just pressure fit on the clips securing to the door. grab hold ad PULL.and i mean PULL the the right. it will snap off just make sure you really PULL it. after that you cantighten the brackets on refig and inside the handle as well

Mine came off by pulling to the left. it looks like the clips can be installed either way as long as they are installed the same way on both sides.

The freezer handle is loose on one side. How can

Check to see if your freezer handle has an inlay in the handle or trim that pops off to get at a screw that holds the handle onto the door. If you don't have this then you may have a handle that literally slides up and off. You then tighten the mounting screws or replace the handle if that is what is making it loose. We no longer can tear apart the doors on refrigerators to get at components inside, because the factory puts these together and shoots liquid insulation into the cavity, and this insulation expands and hardens making it impossible to tear doors apart anymore. This is why most handles now are front repairable. Good Luck. Appliance Specialists

The handle on the door of my bottom freezer Amana has come off where it is attached in one of two places to the door. The handle was held in place by two screws. They have come loose and there is no way to...

Push the handle in and slide it to the side. It should come off and you can tighten the screws and re-attach the same way. I just about destroyed my door before i figured this out.

Freezer door handle loose

u could always set the handle in place where it needs to be and use caulk or super glue to go around the handle and that should help it stay in place if that doesnt work the website www.amana.com to see if it has warranty for the broken handle good luck

Bottom freezer door handle loose

There is a plastic card that you are supposed to slide under the right side of the handle. Once you have done this correctly the whole handle should slide off to the left.

Fisher Paykel fridge door handle loose

Yes hello, I had the same problem - similar fridge model.  Mine was the fridge (not freezer) door handle ie. the upper door.  There are no small holes on the bottom of my fridge handle.  Working from the outer door edge, I gently prized loose the plastic trim located under the door.  I didn't take it completely off, just loosened about one quarter of the length, enough to flex the trim downward so that I could then access the phillips head screw that secures the fridge handle from the inside of the door.  The trim will prevent you from using a conventional screw driver to tighten the screw.  I used a screw driver bit which is only 25mm long.  It has an hexagonal end to which I applied a small spanner and voila - the handle is once more secure.  Good luck.

Bottom freezer handle

At both ends and actually inside the ends of the handle, are small metal brackets that are attached to the door face by a single screw.
You access the screws by pulling the plastic plugs, using a very small and thin flat bladed screw driver.
My handle was loose but hadn't come off on it's own. But I couldn't get the handle to fully tighten.
My fix was to wrap each end bracket with a couple layers of electrical tape (not covering the screw hole) and reattached the handle.
It is now very tight, as it should be.
