Replacing Light Bulbs
To avoid electrical shock which can cause severe personal injury or death, disconnect power to refrigerator before replacing light bulb. After replacing light bulb, reconnect power.
To avoid personal injury or property damage, observe the following:
• Allow light bulb to cool.
• Wear gloves when replacing light bulb.
Fresh Food Section
(style of light shield varies)
1. Slide clear light shield toward back of compartment to release from light assembly.
2. Remove light bulbs.
3. Replace with appliance bulbs no greater than 40 watts.

Hello Brenda;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

First, This is a special bulb. You can obtain the bulb in your local supermarket. They are a little more expensive than household bulbs.

To remove your light bulb shield, pull down on the bottom of the shield, pull towards you and lift up.

Freezer does not defrost, ice piles up, using hair dryer to defrost. Refrig. 5 yrs. old. Thanks, Laura

unplug and unload the freezer section. a panel in the back of the freezer should come out. behind it is the evaperator coil. if it covered with ice, thaw it out with a hair dryer. check the fan near the evap. coil to see if it turns freely. after drying out compartment, plug back in and see if fan works. if all looks fine, look for a florescent looking light bulb in the compartment.have it checked and replace if needed

Lights in refrigerator compartment flickering

You have a bad electronic control board . This part is mounted on the back of the refrig , at the lower left corner , inside a plastic holder . The part number is W10135090 . It costs about $ 100.00 . This board , also controls the 2 control knob lighting .

The freezer is cold but the refrigerator section is not getting cold...it is not warm but not cold according to the dial settings

check the operation of the damper door between the freezer/refrigerator section which lets cold from freezer into refrige compartment for ice build-up which will cause damper door to not open fully and cool the refrige compartment,if this is the problem, unplug the door ans remove and let thaw then replace and try it then

All the lights in the freezer are working. None of the lights in the refrigerator are working. All the bulbs have been changed. Is there a fuse in the refrigerator that would make the lights go out?

In your model , the refrig section light , gets its' power from the control board . When the lights stop working , so will the light for the temp adjustment display . The control board is located behind the refrig , at the bottom , on the left side , inside a white box . It is held on by 2 screws . The part costs around $ 80.00 , and is easily replaceable .

I have a GSS25KGMD fridge. I opened the Fridge compartment top part was very warm and the bottom was cooler. Upon investigating more I noticed that the fridge bulb was very hot. So I pushed the fridge...

Your refrig light switch does control the freezer fan and the refrig light bulb . Replace the refrig light switch .
Open the refrig door , freezer fan goes off and the refrig light comes on .
