I can't program my remote control for TV Sony. Due to I lost the manual. Can you help me plase? Remote control RC 23 Direct tv.

There are a number of different remotes that Directv use, and instructions may differ from your particular model. If you look at the upper left hand corner on the face of the remote there will be a model # RC-64, RC-23, RC-24, RC-32RF, etc. Click on the link HERE and on the webpage, scroll down and you will find the instructions to program your specific model DirecTV remote for your Emerson TV. I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.

I know the new HD boxes and DVR HD Boxes have the new remotes and they included Olevia on it and it works with the new models of Olevia's

Is the RC the original for direct tv box?, if not you have to find the code for the direct tv box, separate from the tv rc code.
if it is the original rc for direct tv, look for the code in the original papers from direct tv.

The codes for Sony TV are 1002, 1218 listed in the back of the manual.

I think the Direct TV remote has a scan feature where it'll go through all the TV codes 1 at a time. Then if you see the TV go off, you stop the scan cycle and store it. Read the manual on how to do that. If it never turns off, then it's not compatible.
