It's not the computer, it's the Sansa. The e260 uses microSD cards, which only go up to 2GB, not microSDHC cards such as the 16GB one you have.

Testimonial: "Thanks a bunch Guru, but after promising my Mac a new set of Rams it suddenly for some reason now recognizes the 16 gig chip. DAMN!! Fine work. M."

If you shut down, unplug, check/reseat memory mods, plug in ,reboot, Open BIOS, Check Memory installed, what does it say? I looked at the specs for KVR400AK2/1GR it's saying it's 2x512mb's? I'm confused? If it's Windows 7 32bit it has limits on the amount of ram it can use.
Google it and see.

INSTALLED NEW RAM UPGRADE TO BOOST FROM 1G TO 2G COMPUTER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE NEW RAM STILL SHOWS 1G.

Make sure it is the correct ram for your computer. If you just added one ram chip then try swapping them and make sure they have a tight fit.

To test the new chip replace the old one with it and turn on your machine. If it doesn't see it then it is either bad or not the correct one.

Let me know how it goes.

How can my computer recognize my new ram i insert?

If it is the correct RAM the System should recognize it automatically. Window on the other hand sometimes get it wrong, To see how much RAM you really have is check as it boots up, that will give you the correct amount. OR again check in BIOS.

I want to install a memory upgrade how do I do it?

Desktops have 2 to 4 memory slots. If you have spares, you can do one of 2 things, remove a memory card and take it in for a match (2 more 1 gig chips is killer). If you only have 2 slots, take a chip in and ask for 2 more chips - that total the increased size that you desire.

Thanks to Microsoft's fat windows design, you will need a minimum of 2 gig to run vista and 1 gig to run XT. BTW, the term "fat" was not intended to be a compliment.

Once the new chips are installed, just turn the machine on and it will recognize the new memory and adjust accordingly.

4 gig card not recognized

You will need to get a new card reader for you computer. If it is not able to read the UDMA type cards it will fail to recognize them. The came is UDMA compatible and does not have the problem.

Macbook wont recognize 500 gig My Book

Hi,

Having tried 2 cables you should now try it on a different computer. Chances are there is a failure inside the enclosure but you will know for sure if it also fails to recognize on another PC.

Once you're tried that, if it does work on the other computer the problem is corruption in your Mac, archive and re-install the Mac, if it doesn't work on the other computer then take it to your local PC shop or parts vendor and have them move the drive into a different enclosure for testing.

If it works in the new enclosure, buy it and your on your way. If it fails to work even in the new enclosure then you will need the help of a pro to get at the files, if that is the case, reply back with your Country, State and city and I will direct you to an appropriate pro.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

RAM Recognition 835GM PC Desktop

the memory is dual channel, so you have to use matched memory for it to work 1gig in each slot if possible, check the 1 gigs and 512's to see if they run at the same bus speed, if they are not matched there is your problem try a gig and a 512 in slot 0 to see if it picks the memory up, also there is sometimes an option in the bios to dissable dual mode

Cannot get my computer to recognize my sansa e260 player

I cannot get my desktop to find a driver for the e260, but if you use the SD microdisk you can load stuff to the microdisk if you have a card reader. You need to buy the full size SD card with the micro SD attached. Then sync the stuff you want to load and when you boot up your player, it will refresh the data base and you can play the stuff on your card. Seems a shame to waste 4 gigs of hard drive on the player, but I do not know anyone who has found a driver for the e260 that works with XP service pack 2. If you do please send me an email me.
