Hi there,

I suspected suds build up, so I tried both regular wash cycles (e.g. Normal) and Rinse and Drain cycles multiple times to clear suds in the system, but still received the F02 error. Sometimes the SUD error message came up, but not consistently.

I ran the built-in Diagnostics tests. It made it to C:06 then got stuck.

In both scenarios above, the washing machine continued to try to pump water out, despite the fact that all the water had already been drained. After 8 or so minutes, the F02 error came on. As I understand it, if the pressure switch detects either water or suds, it commands the drain pump to continue. After 8 or so minutes, if it's still detecting water or suds, the F02 error is displayed.

I performed the following with no success:
1. Check Wire Harness connections - OK
2. Check Drain pump. – OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
3. Check Drain pump motor - OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
4. Check that the Drain hose and Drain Pump Filter is clear of
foreign objects. – OK, ran a cable through both hose assemblies (exterior and interior) and not blocked.
5. Check the CCU – appears to function normally.
6. There were no kinks in the hoses, nor was the height of the pump beyond what the manual recommends.

After more diagnostics and troubleshooting, I found that the Pressure Switch was stuck and reported the SUDS state (continuity made between contacts 11 and 14 on the Pressure Switch itself). I ran many Rinse and Normal cycles with no detergent and still got this F02 error. I checked the state of the Pressure Switch’s Empty and Level 1 contacts which intermittently reported the correct water level condition (EMPTY and Level 1). In all cases contacts 11 and 14 (SUDS) were continuously made (connected) irrespective of water level, rinse conditions and the use of no detergent.

I removed the pressure switch and tested it by blowing into the inlet and did hear the switch click, so it seemed to work properly. Given the diagnostics above, I concluded that the pressure switch hose must have been clogged.

Good Luck!! Thanks for using FixYa!!

Washing machine just stopped mid cycle now have no lcd screen nothing at all. Fagor fu6146it any advice appreciated

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Check that the washer supply is OK using another item - a kettle for instance. If it's not check your breakers/fuses. Reset/replace if necessary and if the same thing happens, or if there was nothing wrong with the breakers/fuses in the first place, sorry but with such a fault it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what could be wrong with your washer. It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches, control PCB, motor.

I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Whats F4 ?

If some fault causes the anti-over flow micro to be activated for more than 10 seconds, the machine will stop and beep as follows: 4 beeps Pause 4" 4 beeps pause 4".........and so on. This means error code F4. Possible causes: - Excess water intake. - Anti-over flow safety proximity micro switch has been short-circuited: It does not disconnect, either electrically or mechanically

Hotpoint ultima wt721 error code fo2 showing! will not work properly!

Error code F02 means the motor has jammed, and or the tacho is loose or broken. .Check the motor hasn't jammed up somehow, or that the small tacho coil on the end of the motor hasn't dropped off (tip the machine back and it's in between the brushes - it should be held in place with a clip. If it's hanging loose it's the fault)

This fault code basically means the PCB cannot detect any impulses from the tacho coil on the motor, so the main implication is that the motor is just not running. However, because other fault codes cover most of the other motor faults, the PCB thinks the motor may be physically jammed. That is, as far as the PCB is concerned, it is supplying the motor with power, but it can't detect the motor is running. This fault is not caused by worn carbon brushes because on these washing machines, an open circuit on the motor causes the washing machine to do nothing at all. It would not fill, or empty (as well as the motor wouldn't run) although the indicator lights would work.

Duet washer

"F02" is a Long Drain error. You need to check the drain pump and/or drain hoses for obstructions. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

If you clean out the drain pump and the problem reoccurs, the drain pump may be damaged. It does not take much to cause irrepairable damage to the pump impeller and motor. A replacement (if required) can be purchased at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number and the pump will be located under the "Pump and Motor Parts" heading as item number 10 (part #8181684). The next link gives step-by-step instructions on how to replace it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r401845-replacing_drain_pump_whirlpool_duet

Some of the steps may be a repeat. I hope you find this information helpful and you can resolve this without replacing any parts. If you do need parts, however, you have all the information you need. Let me know if you require additional assistance.
